A tall legs-extended ED-209 doesn't look so good, for some reason.

agreed, i keep mine all the way down or a 1/4 inch up
i never saw him that extended during the movies

The full extension is there for some of the extreme poses that we've seen but he's not meant to be hiked all the way up if he's posed in a standing straight position. All the way down is the way he appears on screen when in "sleep mode" but when he got activated he elevates slightly. I've kept him here for an "activated" standing straight height. I have to double check the scene; he may even stand a touch taller than that when standing static

Go careful sliding the legs up an down guys, the paint chips slightly. Leaving black plastic spots.

I think, from a design standpoint, the mechanical "purpose" of the leg extenders isn't necessarily for standing. It's more part of his walking mechanism. With each step, the extenders stretch out. Then they retract as he strides forward with the other foot.

Probably not the most efficient way to design a robotic knee joint, but ED's not exactly known for his subtlety or efficiency! :lol

Personally, I'm going to keep mine locked all the way down because I don't want to put extra pressure on the sliders.

If your other work is anything to go by dat gonna be cool^

How do you work on new stuff aswell as commissions?

I manage my time well.

I am a professional artist/ entrepreneur running my own creative art + design company doing all sorts of artistic work (www.thebatcomesouttonight.com).

Myself and my lady are business partners, so we build these things together. She is an artist too.

So, when there are diorama base that needs to be build for paying customers, those become a priority. Right now, I am able to build my own personal projects (personal projects become what is new that I will be offering to customers), because there are no current projects that I need to build for a customer.

On top of ready made diorama, I also offer "build-a-base" diorama, where customers can pick and choose what base, accessories, backdrops, etc themselves and build them together. I usually offer these at conventions and on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/thebatcomesouttonight). I am about to set up a webstore where people can pick and choose there as well.

Excellent. Still contemplating ED-209's worst enemy. And Robocop's charging room would be an even more probable buy from me if you'll also be offering that as a build.

Took a little step on your website too, Jed.
Sweet design.
Had to edit lots of pics of ED though, so will look deeper in a couple´o days.
Took some crazy pics of ED today imo.
Lots of detail shots.
You just can´t stop with it, having it.
Hope to have them up tomorrow to share with you guys.
But now I´m off to bed, late germany.
Night lads.
