its cool I can wait till your health returns obviously we have to, but yeah the dome issue I guess if yours rots u might have to have someone donate one.
Several people have mentioned the possibility of spraying on some kind of sealer, but I'm really doubtful about that working. For one thing, any sealant that is strong enough to create a hard-shell that will make a difference, will contain strong chemicals which might have a negative reaction with the dome; we have NO way of knowing exactly what the dome is made of, and it's not like HT is going to tell us... spraying on a caustic chemical could make matters worse, MUCH worse. So would a sealant stop it from rotting or cracking? Or will the rubber itself still breakdown over time?

I think it's understandable that people just want to vent their disgust and contempt for HT's premeditated parasitic behavior.
As for the replacements, when I sell them I'll likely charge about $45--50 for each. I would love to be able to charge much less than that- but each one is going to require hours of close attention to produce; and the silicone, resin, black pigment and other materials are a bit pricey.
Here's what I suggest EVERYBODY should do: First, if you have cracks on your dome, take clear photos of it. Then if you buy a replacement dome and install it, (or pay someone else to install it because you lack the skills or the time to do it yourself) get hand-written or printed receipts for the purchase and/or labor done, and then take photos of the new dome; print copies of everything, and finally... SEND HOT TOYS A BILL, printed in a legitimate bill-type format, with photos and copies of your receipts. Post photos of the bill (or links to photos) on their Facebook page (in multiple locations- not just at the ED-209 area) here at the forum, and anywhere else you can think of. EMAIL and CALL HT multiple times, demanding that the BILL be paid. Ask to talk to a supervisor.
The results will probably amount to nothing, but at least we can give HT the big fat black eye that they deserve.
If you purchased your ED from Sideshow or some other retailer, SEND THEM A BILL too. Call their customer service line perhaps a week after you send it, and ask them to find it/read it. Talk to the highest-up authority available. Tell them you don't want a refund OR an exchange, (the exchange will have the same dome material) but you want the bill paid in full. If they say, "That isn't our policy" just tell them "IT'S MY POLICY," and let them know you will be publicly sharing all the details and results of the communications you had with them, on social media websites and with the Better Business Bureau if you live in the USA, or your local consumer advocacy organization if you're in another country.
Again, this isn't about actually getting the bill paid... it's about public relations and consumer action. If other collectors and potential buyers are made aware of this type of recurring problem in greater numbers, and Hot Toys and Sideshow are informed of this fact directly by their customers, who knows... something may change, and you might even have your bill paid.
And mail Hot Toys the rubber dome after you rip it off and wipe your ass with it.
I posted a few pages back about my conversation with William Mendoza at Sideshow; He promised he would talk to his superiors about this, but he said even IF his superiors got in touch with Hot Toys about making hard plastic replacements, his opinion was that it would never happen. In this case Hot Toys should really look into a Dome replacement kit.
It's a cheap piece of plastic after all. They haven't done it really since DX02 and I doubt they will do it now, but this is the most extreme **** up I've seen in many years of collecting, and it's gonna get worse and worse. PR control.
In this way I can reproduce the original thickness of the dome, as well as the overall dimensions without shrinkage

Just because someone said it, doesn't mean it's true. The HULK arms don't have the same spongy, gummy feel of the ED dome. Besides, the ED dome is extremely thin and stretched a bit into gluing position. That makes it seem inevitable that hot and cold weather, dampness and oxidation will have the same effect upon all of the domes, eventually.I thought someone mentioned HT used a rubber similar to what they used on Hulk? So why is Hulk not cracking?
Sorry. Wasn't able to NOT post that!
