Just looked at it again- Robo w/chair is on page 2 of the list, and it still says "free domestic shipping". Too bad about ED-209 though... that would have been a savings of about $20, like the shipping cost of Iron Monger.
at 400+ it should be free

Ah, you are correct. I was fooled because the Amber is in a gray block, Robo w/chair is in the white block below, and Amber's free shipping message is in the white block WITH Robo. The "Free Domestic Shipping!" is for Amber from Suckerpunch, right above Robocop w/ chair. It was last night, too. One's right above the other. You look at them line after line like that, it's pretty easy to mix it up.
Because the new versions are both SO MUCH better than the 2006 versions, the originals' collector $ value might not be much over time. One should be 'attached' to the movie and its creative technicians, not so much to a toy representative. That said, a more accurate toy better honors the original movie artists (namely Craig Hayes and Phil Tippett) and better commemorates the film over the long term, in my opinion. I have a HUGE collection, and I have replaced many items with better versions with no regrets. If the toy is faithful to the original source, then I can get very attached also- but the attachment is based upon my acknowledging and honoring the sculptors and modelers who created the original images. At that point it ceases to be a toy, and becomes an icon.I have the original but the new one has so much detail.
I want to update to the new version. Do you guys think I should sell the original?
Robocop and ed-209 was my first hot toys so I'm attached.
I still have old ED but I'm not sure it'd be worth my while trying to sell it now. His value has no doubt plunged but the damn shipping costs won't.
I have no idea what you paid or what it goes for now but you still have to come out ahead by selling though right? Even if you only make 50 bucks that's still 50 bucks off the new ED.
Ordered mine from sideshow, looks sooo cool!
I figure I'll wait on ordering this until one of Sideshow's sporadic coupon codes is offered. Nothing so far for Father's Day?
I do want confirmation on whether or not the dome is rubber though and that might not happen until it's finally released.
Just out of curiosity how are you guys justifying blindly committing to $410 when dome deterioration was such a possibility on the first release? Are you all just assuming that HT is using a new rubber that won't do that? I'd love to have ED on my shelf but am really apprehensive about rolling the dice for that amount of money.
