Just out of curiosity how are you guys justifying blindly committing to $410 when dome deterioration was such a possibility on the first release? Are you all just assuming that HT is using a new rubber that won't do that? I'd love to have ED on my shelf but am really apprehensive about rolling the dice for that amount of money.

...I'll just make a silicone mold from the dome and cast new ones in solid black resin- and sell them to interested parties, probably for about $20...

Wow, very cool! :clap
Yep, Anthapoid mentioned his plan earlier, and it gave me the courage to forge ahead and pre-order ED. Assuming you haven't already pulled the trigger, Khev, both RoboCop (without chair) and ED-209 are still available with a modest discount and no NRD at Urban Samurai. Shipping is a flat rate of $7.95 anywhere in the States.

...because PLASTIC IS CHEAPER THAN RUBBER. Hot Toys, please read that again: PLASTIC IS CHEAPER THAN RUBBER. CHEAPER. CHEAPER. PLASTIC = MORE PROFITS FOR YOU. PLASTIC. CHEAPER. PROFITS. MORE.
:lol

$7.95 anywhere in the US? For such a big *** box, I cant see how the shipping is so cheap.

Yep, flatrate anywhere in the States (it's actually about half of what we Canadians pay ). But here's the quote:

All packages shipped within the US are done using USPS Priority. All items will be shipped in a box and we will not ship anything out in an envelope. This is for your own protection as much as our own. Shipping in the US is a flat rate of $7.95. This includes Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

And in my case, they invoiced me for both items and shipping was the flat rate of $13.95 they quote for Canadian buyers. Maybe someone who'd bought from the States can confirm what they were charged.

Yea I PO'd from them and my total was $387.90. That's a helluva deal. Hopefully it stays.

I probably will PO this sometime this month, I will shoot myself if I miss out on it. I have some rewards points (like 20$) that I can use toward the down payment.

If you only have ~$20.00 in reward points, I'd try and skip using them, Snake. You'll get 5% back on the $410.00 purchase in points, so you'll be losing as much as you're saving.

Fair point, I've only bought one thing ever from SS which is why I have such a tiny amount. And besides, they won't start charging me for ED until September.

EDIT: I ordered ED. Broke it up into 5 payments, I'm sure it will be worth it. I got Robo on order too.

Sweet. Always makes me happy when someone breaks down and pre-orders something they want, for some reason. I'm not even the biggest RoboCop fan, but these two releases are must-haves for anyone that enjoyed the original, IMO. Especially ED-209, just a beautiful figure and representation of sci-fi/robots.

If anyone happens to want to cancel their pre-order on BBTS let me know cause I wasn't able to get one in before they sold out.

I was also surprised the preorders sold out within hours at BBTS.

Wow that was quick! Luckily I preorder two of them.

Sideshow hasn't sold out. BBTS has though. I prefer ordering from them as they don't charge the non-refundable fee Sideshow charges. So hoping someone might end up dropping their pre-order from BBTS. Besides BBTS seems to be only allowing people to order one per person from their site.

I messaged BBTS after they sold out, they told me since there will be limited quantities that they will not be accepting any new orders. So that's why I went with Sideshow.

Hmm I may have to just bite the bullet and order it on Sideshow if BBTS isn't going to have any more or no one plans to cancel their order.

Where does it say that SS is offering free shipping on this? Not seeing it on the order page or in checkout.
Answer: It doesn't, any longer. When I saw it, I had clicked the Hot Toys tab at the top of the SS homepage, then selected 'sixth scale figures'. That displays a long vertical list of HT 1/6 items. It originally said "Free Domestic Shipping!" in bright green text over at the far right from ED-209, but now it's been removed.
The Robo w/chair still has it though.

Not now, it doesn't.

Just looked at it again- Robo w/chair is on page 2 of the list, and it still says "free domestic shipping". Too bad about ED-209 though... that would have been a savings of about $20, like the shipping cost of Iron Monger.
