No brush needed. Just a clean microfiber towel to apply the initial grease. I even used my index finger to spread it evenly across the dome when I was close to done.

Lol, I used my finger as well
Even though the instructions say to avoid contact with the skin

cant get the honda grease here, so finally using the mod podge.
If it doesn't work, I will 3d print the dome

You better not loose your finger or get cancer man, though its only grease right? :monkey2 There is not emoticon for a worried look, so that is the best I could come up with 5X10

Here he is in the Billy with a door. Not terrible but gotta keep the arms down of course. Probably just a temporary display for him.

Hi all! I'm new in this forum so I spend few words about me before starting!
I'm Andrew from Italy, I started doing and collecting 1:6th scale items starting from 2008. My principal interests are the 1:6th scale RC tanks, I have 3 of them plus some action figures and accessories. As my second passion are the sci-fi movies and tv series I started also collecting other objects. The first one was the T800 model then some dragon star trek action figures (Data, Worf and Picard) and then, the last one, ED 209. Unfortunately I had some troubles with them, they don't want to cooperate! I tried everyhing but then the terminator was terminated by a bat'leth hit.

Now, I'm here because I was searching mods and improvements for the already superb ED 209, I found then the custom decals and I love them, I'll probably buy for my robot. However, by jumping from a page to another I started finding the "dome problems" and now I'm scared!

I wasn't able to read all 400+ pages however I've seen that a lot of you are using silicone grease to delay or eliminate the rubber degradation problem.
As I don't have problems now(touching...) I ask you if it is better to start greasing or not. And, if yes, what is the best one I can use.
I ask expecially to who already uses grease from months ago. Do you think it is a good solution? Do you think that rubber will last for long time? Someone who is using grease has found cracks ater grease usage?

I know it is another post about grease, I spent over 100 pages of browsing seeing people talking about cracks, returns, grease, but I've not seen a definitive answer to the problem.

Hey Andrew, I don't own this figure, but from what I've been reading, it's best to use the Honda silicone grease if there's no damage, Mod Podge if there is. I'm sure some others can say for sure.

Hi guys, I started adding more paint details following the works I seen here. The ED209 is a beautiful piece and has a lot of details however the arms and weapons lacks of something, they looks Always too simple, unreal. So looking at you works and looking to the real images and adding some imagination I painted some details you can see here. Looking at the picture I want also to make the holes above the rocket launcher as they are on the real one, to make them I need to remove the launcher and the first rocket tube. Does anyone tried to remove it? Are the parts glued?

You're right! My wife.... :gah:

But as you can see The T800 says thanks for both the broken fingers (they are 2) because now they are both in metal as i used brass M1.2 scres and nuts (and now they are painted in silver) They looks better than the original plastic pins and I'm thinking about the other fingers modification.

Alright, I'm ready to do this. Honda grease, check. Microfiber towels, check. How much grease do I use on the 1st application? And what parts do I apply to, dome, arms, legs, neck (all black rubber parts)?

I remember reading a long while back about some people putting the arms upside down or something like that? I was wondering if someone could explain, or redirect to the image(s) or page so I don't make that mistake. I was just gonna go with how the instructions shows it.

I also saw there were 2 cylindrical foam things inside the box, what are those for? And also is there a sensor that you have to aim the remote? I have to press the button a few times to make the sound effects, or does it go on timer when he does the 20 seconds to comply bit, leading to the firing?

Thanks in advance!

I think the above pics have the boxes on the arms pointed in the right direction.

The cylindrical foam are spaces for the legs if I can remember correctly.

Should just press once and the sound should work.

Thanks! Do you know where they go at the legs? The instructions don't say anything about them and I'm curious. Is there a video review that shows it? I got the remote working. I guess I was clicking it while the sound effect was still in effect.
