wow.
(i have no idea) wasn't it just glued there? :(
judging by the soft pad above the finger, you just got your figure and it was already broken?

No not mine just wondered if it can be fixed I may buy it.

i see. sorry, can't advice because i don't know if just glueing it back will hold its weight.

Thanks guys, I dont think you can just glue it as that part rotates. You think the leg will come apart?

check it out - famous stealer now sells ED-209 decals, i wonder if they are a bootleg copy of Anthrapoid's set!
i so wish i got them, but they were lost in shipping.

Ah damn, I was looking at these decals about 10 minutes ago and came here to find references of where to stick them (not like that...)
Does anybody know if Anthrapoid still makes them? (Would rather my money goes to the one who did the work)

Sorry to see that A-Dev, but that looks 'affirmative' I can't bring my-self to unpackage and look at mine. Mine is in storage from my last collection rotation.

I hope I'm not seeing the beginnings of deterioration here. Possible peeling away from the edges

Looks more like peeling to me.
The cracks when deteriorating usually start to show up withing the rubber area.

I can imagine that HT again stretched a slightly smaller rubber dome onto that torso as with the first ED209.

I still think it's a shame how idiotic they handled that figure after all the fuzz with the first one.

****ing Hot Toys.

I presume I'll be asked - no I haven't treated mine with anything. Displayed with no possibility of direct sunlight and with a clear bag over to keep dust at bay.

I know but it's deterioration either way. My old 2006 ED-209 has a dry dome with cracks in the rubber and more advanced border-peeling.

I hoped at least that the smooth black border parts were there to prevent the peeling somehow but nope, doesn't look like it.

I'm not even so fussy that what I'm showing in my pics would bother me at all - except that we know it just gets worse and worse over time.

Yup.

When I still owned my first ED209 I made a new dome like that russian guy showed in that YT video.

That's impossible with the new ED since the dome has that special movie like shine and pattern you couldn't easily recreate...

Has anyone bought the decal set for this, wondering what it looks like & where they go

I've been saying it for years ... if somebody was willing to make a replacement dome, put me on the list.

So I was approached about possibly making a replacement of this dome awhile back. Now that I am wrapping up the current Terminator customs I think it could be something I could possibly 3D model and see if we can get prints/casts made. I currently have a lot on my customs schedule right now ahead of this but I would love to look into this for you guys.

However, I do not own this figure myself. As such I would need very detailed pictures (of the dome itself, yes, but more specifically of the underside so I can see how it attached to the rest of the figure) with measurements. If this is done it would likely be done in some version of plastic rather than the rubber material it is currently made of.

Let me know what we can do. If there is a large need for this I would start up a separate thread in the customs section so we can consolidate discussion, pictures, etc. Thanks!

that's the problem. you really need an actual figure.
i have an unassembled ED in another place, could pick it up in july (vacation) and send the torso to you... but who would cover the expenses of double shipping for both of us :)
anyway mine is out of discussion until july.
