I entered SS Facebook contest for this guy today. Thats the only way I'll own him but he isn't a bad figure by any means. Congrats to all who have received him!

Man I really wanted this figure but after seeing all the in-hand shots I just don't think I can justify putting a bloody Tony Stark in with the rest of my collection. Like the BD Mark VII makes sense but this just looks like he got mugged and I want to display that? Weird lol.

Looks like I spoke too soon, didn't have any problems with the arc reactor immediately, but after having him on display for a couple days, I notice it was glowing without it being on. Looks like I'll be hitting up SS for a replacement as well.

Anyone has a photo of a disassembled TS body? I'd like to see how are the arms attached...

So how many of the chest reactors are comming in broken? And how to turn it on? (where is the switch and where is the plastic thingy that needs to be removed?)

I'd like to know this so I can test if mine works the little time I have to inspect the figure at my local store.

The switch is either broken or jammed. I got a bad one, too. Not sure if I even want to get it replaced, since I'd probably never turn it on, anyway.

I've been really dissapointed with the quality of the bodies for both The Mechanic and the Mech Test tony Stark. On Mech Test, I actually had to super glue parts back in that were not meant to come out.

Hey Guys, here's my review vid on the Tube for this figure. I think overall it is a cool looking figure but I do have some issues. My figure has really tight arm joints by the elbow area. Not sure if this is common or not. However the chest reactor on mine works fine but I think for this look, it isn't really needed since his clothes cover that area mostly.

Hey Joe. Both my workshop Tony and Mechanic have really stiff elbow joints. I just worked them back and forth a few times to loosen them up and now they pose a lot easier. Hope that helps.

Great review BTW.

Thanks man and yeah I figure the joints will loosen in time. I also was thinking of heating them up a bit with a hair dryer to ease up the tightness. Either way, not a big deal since I won't be re-posing him all that much.

Still can't get his right arm to bend at the elbow. Even the replacement they sent me isn't working.

Have you tried warming it up? Using a hair dryer on it for 30-60 seconds worked for me on this figure and many, many others in the past whether it be tight joints, or heads/necks/foot pegs that wouldn't come off.

Yup, just tried it again. Used a hair dryer for about 1:30 and no luck. I also tried running it under hot water, still no luck. Should I tell them to send another replacement?

Wow, that's quite a pickle! How much force would you say you're using to get it to budge from it's initial 'stuck' position?

Quite a bit. Just enough to where it won't snap in half.
That's unfortunate. Maybe try leaving just the stuck part submerged in warm/hot water for awhile as a last resort?

It's a judgement call for you at this point, would suck to have to send out for yet another replacement.

That's exactly how the arms on mine are. With my figure, both the left and right arms are equally as tight and I have to really put some force into getting the arms to bend. Sounds like mine isn't the only one then. I say just get the arm into the position you want him posed as and leave it be. it doesn't sound like swapping it again for another one is going to help.

I opened up 4 boxes of the Mechanic yesterday at my toy shop and each figure's elbow joints are all very tight.

QC is pretty good for this piece but I noticed some figure's pants had mis-aligned stitching, I chose the best piece in the end.

Got this guy for USD$193 (SGD$245), fair price I will say but could be cheaper.

getting the exclusive today, stoked, didn't want to wait til April to possibly have a defective one. So far have the three TS. Mech Test, Armor Test and now Mechanic.
