I didn't think the likeness was bad at first, but after watching the movie... yeah, it's not too hot.

And maybe this has been discussed, but I never see him use the shouldered missiles the HT fig depicts... just the dud hammer one.

yeap, that's the problem when one develops figures before final cut: there are inevitably errors. :lecture
They had confused the War Machine with drones probably. :slap

Wasn't this issue of so-called "inaccuracies" with early figures in a line also present with TDK? That first Joker was pretty off as I recall...

Guess that's what happens when a company takes too much of a jump-start to get their figures into development and out the door...before the movie is even "locked"....

I doubt they had it confused. The 6'' Hasbro and 3.75'' Hasbro figures also depict those sort of missiles. It's possible they were present in early designs but just didn't get used in the movie. I think the way the missiles launchers are deployed on the figure is really cool, personally.

Damn i just dont get it. Why is it that war machine's eyes are somtimes blue in promotional shots but in the movie and this figure he has red eyes.

hmm might be more of a business move more then anything in terms of the early dk figs...

Yea I know. And after watching the movie, I actually want the Hammer dud. I bet they'll come out with a Bd War Machine with more accurate parts and paint and decals. Still an awesome figure though. Saw it in person in Hong Kong and couldn't take my eyes off of it.

There's still plenty of time to change it. They really just need to tweak the helmet and the shoulder missiles. Really, just one since you never see whats in the right shoulder.

I'm fine with them leaving the shoulder missles as they are because he's always had them in the comic. If a collector is concerned about the movie-accuracy, s/he can always display WM without them attached.

Are there any pics of this figure at shows et.? Some sort of proto? Anyone can re-post if so?

The prototype was at HT's Collartible expo from a few weeks back.

I don't get HT. I understand they said that they slimed the Marks because of Articulation. But WM seems to be bulked out. Of course we will need to see side by side pics when it comes out, but it seems they were able to make enough Articulation to make the figure work. I just hope that Whiplash will not end up being "bigger" than the new Marks. Besides this, WM looks outstanding and hope we see him soon.

I agree. I'm getting it more because I've always been a fan of war machine, rather than being into the movie. It still looks like war machine to me, so I'm glad to have it. Same reason I liked the first Hot toys Joker. It didn't look like the joker in the movie, but it sure as hell looked like the joker, which is fine with me!

I want both the Ex Wife AND the Shoulder Rocket Pack to be included with him, how's that sound to you Hot Toys! :lol

Hell, no reason why any new figures after Blade 2 should include less than what came with him!

Oh, and I also want him to shoot real bullets!

Well, iI think it's too much to ask HT to make him shoot real bullet.

I suggest that HT keep their current missile launcher on his right shoulder and put ex-wife on his left shoulder. It's a win-win situation. We got both comic and movie accurate War Machine.
