Hot Toys 1/6 Predator Expanded Universe Figure

as a long time reader/consumer of comics i will have to advise against this.
the best avp comics are mediocre and the rest are lousy.
go buy the new alex ross justice hardcover. lets support the good guys.

Oh, I guess people should just ^^^^ing buy something and have no clue of the origin of the character.

Because that makes sense.

Who in the hell cares who she is? I read the first Predator book. It sucked. The figure is cool though and that's all that matters to me.

And I've read every Predator book, and the only one that really sucked, was Forever Midnight.

My point was, that I didn't want a bunch of idiots tearing something apart because they're too lazy to read THREE books. I don't care about comics outside of Predator and AvP, I'm not a hardcore comic guy... I'm a Predator fan.

Let's not forget, most Predator and Alien fans piss on AvP movies because the, "comics were better." Go look up some of the TERRIBLE review videos on youtube of people talking about the Neca and Hot Toys figures, and the movies themselves. I have to shake my head at how damn clueless some people are on the material, not out of not being able to afford to read, but because they've seen one or two movies and could careless. That's whatever though.

I'm saying, if you can afford a ^^^^ing one hundred dollar figure, you can spend $20 on a few books and at least know what the ^^^^ you're talking about.

Edit: Writing that reminds me of the kid who reviewed AVP:R, and the other kid who bought the Neca Wolf and called his weapons, "a whoop, and a shranker."

I could easily say that is not Machiko because that is a white chick and Machiko is japanese. HT give her a japanese look please then i might buy it.


And if that is Lex ^^^^ that! I'm not buying anything from the Anderson AVP movie!! I'd rather chew broken glass.

My only problem with this figure are the kids who are collecting the line now, and I know, I KNOW someone will buy it, and if it is called Machiko, they'll be saying, "there was never a girl dressed up like a predator in any movie, so it's kinda dumb." If it's Lex, they'll ^^^^^ that she never, ever looked like that in AvP, so that too will be "dumb."

I just really hope, the people who don't know the extended universe spend a little cash on the three AVP Novels, or the AvP Omnibus, and get a clue on who this figure is based on.

Hot Toys could very well write up a little description on the box (much like Sideshow does for a lot of their stuff) describing how Machiko ended up becoming part of the Predator clan. That way people who don't know the character will have a little insight and can follow it up with more research on their own.

That would make me a very happy collector.



And I'd like to add, aside from my ^^^^^in', I really really do love Hot Toys THAT much more for making a female human Predator, I always wanted an original Machiko model that was made years ago... but all I could ever find were horribly done recasts. Whether they call it Machiko or whatever - I can honestly say I'm more excited about this piece, than even Predator 1.

It's good to know I'm not alone.
I'm sure some one out there is willing to prove us wrong, but the "acid for blood" part is characteristic of aliens.

So, it doesn't make much sense to me neither.

Well she's supposed to be Japanese. But I guess this is their attempt at making an asian face without the super stereotypical slanted eyes?
