Prime1 hair sculpt looks hilarious to me. The hair styling is pretty wrong, the widows peak too pronounced with the top of the hair too poofy so forehead-up he looks like Frank from Dead Rising. In the film you can see they style it to avoid the thinning hair look. With the ripped cowl scene, his hair actually looks more full.

I agree, the sculpted hair is being far too kind, though it’s even more generous on the Flash Keaton.

I don’t see anyone clamoring for accuracy there.

They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place here. An accurate Keaton hairline and thickness identical to the scene it’s based on would look really bad and throw off the likeness a ton.

His hairline is receding badly in that scene, and to make matters worse his hair texture is extremely fine and curly.

I believe they understood this and decided to take liberties allowing people to use the sculpt for more than the intended purpose. We’re not getting another Keaton Bruce Wayne sculpt for quite some time, so perhaps it’s best to have a flexible option.
He was wearing a wig in The Flash.

Another look. Justin has very strong feelings about the hatch on the back of the head still being present. I honestly don’t mind if they eliminate it and might prefer they didn’t; having to remove the head to adjust the eyes from up through the neck is kind of a pain.

That is the old cowl sculpt and faceplates on display, so yes it has the hatch.

However that’s not what will be released, they did away with it on ‘89, they will do the same here. Let’s just hope the new cowl and faceplates look good and actually resemble the source this time.

If I don't have to squint to see Michael Keaton, that's a good enough job for me. I think this one--if it stays the way it looks now when it gets to production--is the best unmasked Keaton Bruce portrait we've gotten. Keaton seems TRICKY for companies to nail.

Looking at these two pics side-by-side it seems to me that the wings are not fully extended, hence the slight bagginess in the fabric of the glider wings, if you look at the "bones" at the top of the wings the angle doesn't quite line up, making me think the wings extend a little more at the middle, maybe a fold that hasn't been fully stretched out.
Probably done to fit it in the shelf.
Have there been any pics of it from Secret Base outside of the cabinet?

Edit: Nevermind I found it - clearly still not fully extended to make the material of the wings more taut, BUT if you compare it to the top pic of this post with the figure in the cabinet it seems to me that the wings look visibly a little more extended, again probably not FULLY extended to keep it all in shot without having to back up too much and making it more difficult to see the accessories and head sculpt.
If I'm right then these wings will be BIG when fully extended but the more they are the less "bagginess" will be visible in the wing membrane.

Do you have Returns? I used to own the original version but for the life of me, can't remember if it had moving eyes and a hatch. Bizarre, you'd think I would remember that ...

It did 🤣 Maybe you never moved the eyes?

Does anyone who owned the 1.0 know what the rope accessories are about? And how one might use them?

Who knows. Since 2020 I sold off almost my entire original collection, went through the pandemic and a full-time career change and a couple of girlfriends, no wonder I can't remember the specs on my old Batman doll. :lol

Looking forward to the new and improved Batman doll. :lecture

I don't think they'll do the hatch. Makes no sense if they did away with it on the '89 2.0.

I never got it, I started collecting in 2017 and was only really focused on Nolan, I’m just starting to branch out a little bit. Yes it had the hatch, identical to the old ‘89.

There’s zero chance they’ll give us the hatch again. Hot Toys makes some dumb decisions, but I genuinely feel like they’re trying to change their ways. This year regarding announcements has been insane, just about everything looks quality, I’m shocked.

That’s his grappling hooks.

Weird thing about the back plate in the promo images, it was the same in 89 but 89 had the updated 2.0 in all of the other shots. Just the back shot was clearly of the dx09 with the dx09 cape.

Returns is literally the same 1.0 cowl and faceplates with a new paint job and the new cape in all of the promo images. Hard to be certain they'll actually update the cowl with an actual new 2.0 sculpt outside of possibly removing the back plate.

The kick in the balls is they leave the back plate as it is, but you move the eyes underneath the cowl like their modern figures and the backplate is glued on.
