I keep coming back to that screaming sculpt trying to figure out what is off about it. It's the mouth. Too much of his gums showing.

Problem isn't so much the gums, but the lip color and more so, the shape to the opening of the lips. Right now, the opening of his mouth looks more like a dentist asked him to open wide for a checkup, there doesn't seem to be a tension and sharp ull to the corners where his upper and lower meet to suggest anger.

It's also too square shaped froma front on view, if you look at the CGI mode, the top lip espcially shows more anglling from the corner whe the lips meet to the top where the lip goes over the teeth.

Subtle things, but they really are what define an expression looking like one thing or another.

It looks like he's taking a bite from an apple

They can't see to sculpt this expression properly. It's the same problem in Groot. It's not conveying the emotion properly. Groot looks like he's singing at the opera.

Is the bottom photo of Groot supposed to look 'angrier' than the top? If so, can't say it does. If anything, the bottom screenshot looks derpier than what HT did. I do believe these toys can be over analysed.

The groot one looks good to me. You have to admit the hulk screaming head does look weird. If you cover his eyes and look at the mouth only, it does look like he is just opening his mouth at the dentist. That's what throws the sculpt off. I do like the new grinding teeth sculpt though.

l asked the staff in secret base today, they
said the prototype displayed has no seam
under the arm pit, but there will be seam on
the final product!
I don't understand why they did this, its
cheating imo.

this is what happened to the screaming sculpt from the small toy manufacturer
anatomy says a screaming head should be the same size as a normal head right? but once you use the exact proportion it turns out a hair too small.
and this HT version, there are too much gum showing, maybe a factor as well.

I think another thing throwing these sculpts off is the lip color -> light red and/or pink.

Aren't they supposed to be green?

Coloring them light red/pink makes the gums stand out more.

perfect arm pit, aou hulk in secret base!
but dont expect it to be the same in the final product,
you have been warned!

personally i think the prototype's(statue) color and body sculpt are much better
than the one shown in HT website.

Wow - two for two, & I ain't buying..

The 'smash' second body is actually cool, but stops being a figure once you do the swap.. what's the point of that.

The poseable body - same **** as last time. Don't like it.

Weird high hair again, mongy face.. wtf.

Pants are just no - movie or otherwise.

I hope to GOD someone makes a nice high end 1/6 Lou Ferrigno HULK. :gah:

:exactly:

It becomes a semi statue. And not a very good one because the point of a statue (to me) is that it doesn't have visible joints.

Statues don't interest me. Call me old-fashioned but figures have to be able to move their arms.

:nono

I like the jointed body. It's well sculpted and standing on the shelf he looks like a beast. More importantly it's the Hulk toy I always wanted, from the time I had the 12" Mego.

Which brings me to this...

That would be cool. A smaller, more manageable Hulk who wouldn't make all the other figures look like puny midgets!

Nah - pvc pipe arms that bend & smoosh in unnatural ways, ain't no sculpting master piece.. sorry.

Don't like the permanent uber tensed neck muscles either. How does that make sense when he's set up in a relaxed pose?

Also - figure's way too big, like the last one (given that the poseable body looks identical).

I have to get this and the Avengers Hulk. You can never have too much Hulk.
