Any word if these movies are coming to blu-ray anytime soon? I need to catch up on Alien, A3, and A4 and it would be nice to see them in high def for the first time.

And Alien 3 has great, believable characters - Ripley was excellent again, but so too were Clemins (sp?), Dillon - even '85' and superintendant Andrews. They had some great actors in there. For some reason critics overlook those guys when they go on about the 'indistinguishable skinheads'.

there isn't anything to explain about what i said. it's really straight forward. it isn't in code. i'm not trying to trick you.

so, either you don't know what "stylized" or "creative" mean and you're not willing to at least look them up. and there isn't anything i can do to help.
or, maybe you're not looking for an explanation at all. and you're being passive-aggressive and snidely telling me to justify it because you disagree.

Here's an argument for you, ask anyone that isn't a member of this board about which Alien movie they liked the best, and I guarantee it will be Aliens. Alien 3 was a laughable piece of garbage. You're trying to get some deep artistic meaning out of these movies. Let's be honest here, Alien and Aliens may have been an artistic vision that Giger and Ridley Scott wanted to see, the rest of the flicks were just to make $$$$.

yeah, i really liked Golic after seeing the dvd cut. of all the stuff to cut from the movie, they cut one of the most interesting parts.

The fact they trapped the alien was pretty cool....and then Golic screwed it up. Great scene.

And that was a huge amount of footage. There was the huge explosion then what seemed like about 20-25 minutes before it returned to what we saw in the theatrical cut - Morse's line '>>>>ing great! etc etc and the ensuing argument with 85 - seemingly in response to the explosion in the theatrical cut while in the SE it was in response to their discovery that golic had freed the Alien.

Going back to my original post, it was the order in which I like the design of the creature in the movie... not the order I liked the movie.
That said, in my opinion A L I E N 3 is still a superior movie to Aliens, but this is 'just' my opinion, I respect everyone who prefers Aliens, if you prefer ‘action’ movies and a gung-ho, macho adrenalin rush then it’s the winner hands down, hell it was NAM in space! Don’t get me wrong, of its genre it was a trailblazer, and Cameron set a great benchmark for other ‘actioneers’ to follow, it is a fantastic film, I like it onehelluvalot, BUT, I prefer A L I E N 3, and as has been said above by many others, it has to be the re-edited long version, I don't think it should be called a directors cut, as I don't think Fincher over saw it.
My reasoning would be, I prefer the tension it creates, not as strong as the Scott original, but at least it's a nod in the right direction, and it has to be said the camera work, production values and most notably the acting, simply tower over Aliens.
If I had to give an order for ‘movie’ preference it’d have to be ALIEN, ALIEN 3, Aliens, AvP, Alien Resurrection and coming in a very sad last AvP:R.

in that case, you're better off watching Starship Troopers. more guns. more aliens.
plus, you get Clancy Brown AND Michael Ironside.

also, by that thinking, Alien Resurrection should be better... shouldn't it?
