"We have to push back these figures to year 2015 or even 2016"

B89 will always be in my top 5 films of all time.

I'm still pretty chuffed that I got to see it in the cinema back in the day, during my early teens - perfect time.

It doesn't have to be everyone's though.. live & let live, & all that.

Batman 89 pretty much paved the road for today's superhero movies.

I am right there with you... In fact, I would leave out the "pretty much" disclaimer even.

I really wonder where the state of not only superhero films but the Batman character would be had '89 not happened. It surely set the stage for serious comic films and had a major hand in comic characters being treated appropriately in televised animation (by ushering in BTAS)... but it also did SO much to change the character of Batman in the public eye. No longer was it Adam West that defined him (as it had for the preceding 23 years)... Now the entire world knew what comic fans at that point knew- Batman as a dark character.

Truly a game changer.

I would have been 7 or going on 7. I thought it was great, I think I can still remember the posters up and the unique smell of my local cinema, a cinema which no longer exists.

And to this day Batman is the only movie franchise that I have seen every single film in the cinema.

I had that record going too... but quit after TDK. Never saw TDKR at theaters.

Why? There are certainly more than five good superhero films out in this day and age.

No doubt. I just find it almost criminally lowballing. :cuss :lol

The music, the city, the batmobile... all original for the movie. The Marvel movies all have their fair share of design feats, but not all of it together at once. Batman also had great characterization though not the best (I seed that to RDJ/IM's excellence) but everything else was utterly unforgettable. Marvel may have an advantage in setting their heroes in actual cities, but when DC succeeded in making a totally unique Gotham it really kills the competition for me.

It is looking more and more like the OSR interview thing is an April Fool's joke (pop into the Ra's Al Ghul thread).

That isn't to say that it won't take HT until 2016 to finally put these out though. :(

Yeah, it's a shame. Even fake news is better than no news at this point lol.

Always good to have company! :)

Just wait until tomorrow. The uninitiated around here will have some heads exploding! :D
