Hot Toys Avatar is official (Movie spoilers)

It's one of those movies that's artistically incredible, yet there's no desire to buy collectibles from it for me. Dunno why.

Just checked out the HT website for the first time in months. Not only have they removed the homepage link to Avatar, but it's no longer in their Movie Masterpiece drop-down menu. Face it, chances are it's been cancelled.

Yeah I forgot about the AMP suit lol. Sideshow has some things but i would of thought the merchandise would be everywhere by now though. With all these summer tentpole movies coming out with HT figure to go with it i would of thought we would have somthing. It seems like Avatar And Superman are the 2 that are never going to be scene..And there the 2 i want the most!!! At least give us a another TEASER!!!

I would have laid my money down for a Jake and Neytiri last year when the buzz was still big but maybe not so much now, especially with so much coming out from other licenses.

My bet is that Hot Toys want to do a DX Jake Sully with handicap Jake Sully and then Avatar version...but considering we have Indy and Jack Sparrow coming out, it may not be until Q4..but that is just my two cents.

I can't see two different figure bodies in one box, especially as the new Na'vi bodies would be bigger, hence more expensive too.

i believe that's from a member here. I remember seeing it quite some time ago being developed and in progress from someone on these boards.

But to answer your question Greygoose, the HS definitely has the scars on his face

awhile back gentle giant showed off awesome avatar statue's. where are they? Sideshow showed off amazing bust for jake and neytiri. where are they? hot toys had a sculpt of jake sully. where is it? What are they waiting for excatly. its 2011 and I still have no merch from avatar.

ive lost faith in hot toys on this line. if its been completely removed from their website, ive gotta believe the line is over. what a disappointment. This on top of the the new (crappy imo) pics of the sideshow neytiri statue and im left without a single avatar collectible. Oh well someday. I guess it took like 25 years to get good terminator 1 stuff.

Avatar is still listed if you pull up their Search engine under Licenses. There's no reason for it to be listed anywhere else seeing as how they obviously aren't ready to preview the first figure yet.

I still think they're on the way. They've just got a busy summer of new releases to capitalize on. Avatar hype isn't at a peak right now so previewing something now versus later on in the year makes no difference at this point.
