Ahh crap! :lol
That's an insane shipping price, forgot to take that into account. :slap

It's hard to keep checking every retailer all the time. I imagine as soon as one turns up it sells in a matter of hours. If anyone in Europe has one in mint condition for around £600 I'd be very interested. :)

This one is UK based but a bit above your price range. I would email first to double check it's still in stock though.

To be honest although the Hot Toys Delorean is very cool i can't really see where its worth $700. Its only plastic and not even diecast.

I think it's actually not too bad considering the size and weight of the box = HUGE. I have to send a normal sized parcel (1/4 that size) to the US next week and it's £35 economy.

UK internal shipping is going to be around £40-£50 with good insurance.

Here we go again. Why do you post just to complain? The price is what it is because of demand. Mine is worth every penny, IMO.

Thanks, I did see that yesterday while looking around but wasn't sure if they were reliable. I'm a little paranoid about ordering from online stores I'm not familiar with. I've emailed them in the meantime.

A diecast version would be very heavy! I understand the parts the car is made from probably aren't worth $70 let alone $700 but something is ultimately worth what you are prepared to pay. This is the only vehicle I wish to own, assuming a hover version isn't made. I can't imagine having any regrets about buying it when I finally get it.

I wonder why Hong Kong sellers, reputable ones like TimCent, can offer free postage. Presumable they just built it into the price of the vehicle. I'd be a little worried about import tax on this. I've got two figures from HK through with no customs but don't like my chances with such a big box!

I've bought from him in the past without a problem. It used to be an actual shop in Battersea, but is now only online. Only thing I've found is sometimes the stock showing isn't updated so always check before buying.

From TimelessHobbies? cool, that removes some of my doubts. I can get it from them for £670 or from Hong Kong for £610 delivered but no idea how much customs might add to that. hmm Decisions :dunno

Customs from HK is always a gamble whether they're gonna add a charge or not. Quite a few only bung $20 on the form, but they probably won't get away with it considering how big and heavy the box is. Customs may open it and check the value online.

I had mine marked as $100 toy car, gift.
I got a £20 charge, lol.

I can't subscribe to that theory, but my advise is this: If you can't afford to lose an extra £100+ then don't do it. If you can, and it goes through customs without a hefty charge then just count that as a bonus.

Of all the stuff I've bought over the years most went through. It's those occasional few that don't that are very annoying.

Ive heard a few people import their delorean from china where the seller marked it as a gift with a value of £20. They all went through without any problems.

Tbh its heresay and theres always gonna be some risk. Try putting a thread on this forum in the appropriate place about WTB the delorean or try some of the facebook groups.

How heavy is the box? It's obviously big but given the car is plastic maybe it's not super heavy.

I went with the UK retailer just in case there were any issues with tax and it's a lot less further to travel. Might be overpaying but I'm spreading it interest free over two years so not really worried. Expecting delivery on Monday, can't wait. :yess: Still hoping they make the hover version but just glad to have this in case that never happens.

Congrats. Probably a wise move. Also, a few (including mine) have minor factory damage, so could potentially be better dealing national rather than international.

Good move. Im seriously doubting the part2 delorean will ever happen.

I would suggest you speak to hunter about getting some goodyear decals as they will improve the look of the car considerably. Ive added a few more mods myself, but the tyre decals on their own will make the car better
