Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Hot Toys says coming soon but their definition of "coming soon" is a bit different then mine :lol .

I doubt we see anything other than an official announcement on their facebook wall (along with Captain America, Sucker Punch, Pirates, Metal Gear Solid and the rest of their new licenses).

From past experiences I expect the announcement on their facebook wall in a few days or next month.

As far as actual figures go, as I stated in the '78 Reeve Superman thread, I'm willing to bet we get a Batman '89 teaser in June/July with specs and pics July/August. That will be about a year from now until actual '89 product is released (about 4 months after official specs, give or take).

So I wouldn't go looking for any product pictures until this Summer and don't expect to have the figures in hand until next year.

For now I'm going to enjoy the announcement and wait patiently. We've waited for years for this so what's another year? I can wait, god knows I have enough stuff to hold me over. This is going to be great.

And mark my words, I bet we get a Batman '89 teaser in June/July with specs and pics July/August. Write this down because it WILL happen. Obviously that will be about a year until actual '89 product is released (about 4 months after official specs, give or take).

I can wait a year. Late 2011 and 2012 will be the years of Batman.

Hey, hey get a load of this guy.

Unless it's like Superman, I bet we see it next month or July. I'm no JRL or any of those people that made those countdowns or false release dates for Superman pics, but it's just a gut feeling going by past figure experiences.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I still haven't ordered one. :(

Don't worry many people haven't. I just ordered one last week, but I"m already considering canceling it because I also jumped on the Superman Excl.

~~As for the Keaton Batman....of course I'll be ordering one, and quite possibly two.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

These would make sweet DX figures but they already did batman and joker figure for that line. A different movie but they did the characters nontheless. Anyway yeah you know Joker is gonna come with that long ass gun, thats a must. Im also down for an alt.head from the museum scene. Man I can NOT wait! Hot Toys says coming soon but their definition of "coming soon" is a bit different then mine :lol Still, this place is gonna go nuts when we get teaser pic.

:lol :lol :lol

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Why make Joker and not Batman?

Why make a Blade and no Nomak? Why make a Wolverine and no Sabertooth? Why get the license for a Resident Evil Alice and nobody else from the films? Why make a BB Batman and no Ra's al Ghul? Why make a Billy but no Blain or Dillon? See a pattern here? :huh

Me either. :lol

Jack but no Barbossa....

Why is Batman pictured in that teaser? Why is Batman arguably more demanded (iconic???) than Nomak, Sabertooth, Alice, Ras Al Ghul, Blain and Dillon? Why go after an expensive license called Batman if you aren't going to make a figure of Batman? Why can DCD get the license for Keaton but Hot Toys can't? Why does Hot Toys have to announce that they got Keaton's license when they don't do that for other characters or actors usually? Why am I asking so many questions?

Awhile ago I did have a nightmare that the spec/pics came up for "'89 Batman figures" and I went to preorder but the pics were really of a Christian Bale Batman in an '89 suit and a Heath Ledger Joker in '89 Joker clothes. I pooped myself, cried, then ordered.

Then I woke up.

Well? Look at the Colonial Marines, the first Reese and BD T-800, RoboCop, etc. HT has ways around that. :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I could see a Joker exclusive being:
-The gas mask and gift box he gives Vicki
-defiled Julius Caesar bust
-Bob's gun
-laughing bag
-Chattering teeth
-Glasses
-Joker product

As for Batman:
-line launcher
-cold soup

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

You first. Have you read his tweets? :thud: :lol

Don't have a twitter, plus he doesn't seem like the type a guy that would answer one of those questions. Oh, and I don't have a twitter and besides, I'd feel ghey doing that.

Kind of regret posting his url though, I feel sorry for Keaton. Out there, somewhere in the Internet universe, I just gave some nutjob on here the idea, i.e. the "WHERE'S SUPERMAN" facebook league.

So long as I'm not that nutjob. :tap
