Hot Toys Batman V. Superman Dawn of Justice Speculation Thread

I'm kind of surprised it looks like the Bat Signal will be it's own separate item. Would have figured it would be part of a set with Armored Bats. I guess it's a good thing so it won't jack up the price for people who only want the figure.

It's also a little curious the desert Batman is called "Knightmare Batman" in the book above, but it was called "Apocalypse Batman" at the convention.

Everyone has been assuming he's called "knightmare" Batman because it's from a dream sequence. It was referred to by that name by other toy comanies as well. On a similar note, the batsuit on Knightmare bats looks better than the regular. I hope they add the same muscle definition to the regular suit.

I know it's been called Knightmare Batman by other companies and that it's a dream sequence, but the card displayed with the figure a while back at a convention called it "Apocalypse Batman". So it's a little curious that they changed it. Especially when you have what look like parademons also flying around in the dream sequence. Makes you wonder if it was a bit premature by Hot Toys as maybe the scene will have some hints for Darkseid and Apocalypse. Or, "Apocalypse" could just literally mean Batman is having a nightmare about an actual apocalypse brought on by Superman and there's nothing more to it then that.

Probably. As they say, the simplest explanation is likely the answer, but the parademon looking things do give me some pause and make me wonder if there's a little more to it.

Hopefully it's in production at Hot Toys, I'd rather not resort to the other figures on the market.

For the Harley Quinn, I'm resorting to the DC Collectibles 1/6 statue. The prototype is a pretty good likeness to Margot Robbie. I don't recall Hot Toys ever picking up the Suicide Squad license but I'm good with the DCC statue.

They do have it. The other day the linked the new Suicide Squad trailer on their fb page and said something along the lines of "hot toys fans, stay tuned for more highly detailed DC collectibles coming soon".

Awesome! I must have missed that. Makes me reconsider if I should invest in the DCC 1/6 statue line.

Although if the Suicide Squad movie flops, it's foreseeable that Hot Toys might put a couple characters out there and then abandon the license.

Lone Ranger comes to mind. Wasn't GI Joe supposed to get more figs? I'm not sure if Terminator Genysis was supposed to get anything else besides "Pops" Arnold but I would have liked an Emilia Clarke Sarah Connor. I ended up getting a custom Emilia headsculpt from sculpt4ever.

if deadpool can generate hype and an upcoming $55 million opening weekend, then suicide squad will do it very very easy. its got bigger names, more iconic characters and has been advertised for months and months prior to its release, i really can't see it flopping at all.

I'm more excited to see an updated bats than Wonder Woman. As of right now I have no intention on getting her. Depends on her performance. She looks good though.
