Looks like 42 is diecast too. I don't foresee HT doing plastic versions any time soon after seeing these. Thus ends my completest Marvel mentality.
Sallah
I think it looks great but I'd like to see a plastic MMS IP version next to it for comparison. Is the diecast material really worth the extra bucks and not to mention the non-existing accessories?
What he said. I love the Tamashii 3PO. If it was like that then I would be all in.
I want to know what parts are metal, and how are they going to handle the paint apps. Look at some peoples Cpt Shields.
i for one don't care about die cast, what does it add?
it looks the same as a plastic figure, but its heavier..
Why Doll? Too many pre orders? Or too little?
I actually think HT priced it low enough to get people buying. Yeah it's more than peeps want to spend, but it's not out of price range. Even with all the potential problems with a diecast figure (paint chips, rust, loose joints) that I've been reading about, I'm still pretty excited & curious about getting this.
Even considering that its a hobby you've been doing since you were a kid, it's also something to considering putting your actual family before giving your figures a thought. I don't mean that in a sense that you don't consider your family, because its clear that you do but I personally just think it would be more beneficial to sell some figures and take care of expenses in the house before trying to scrap money for these figures. Seeing that these figures aren't going to disappear off the face of the planet any time soon.Disabled and living on a fixed income, money is always tight and I have a budget that every time I go over it, it causes my family financial problems so there is a limit I can pay for a figure, and without discounts or anything left to use I just can’t afford the extra amount added for Die-cast figures. As it was I had enough rewards to knock almost $100 off Hulk or I wouldn’t have him ordered, Iron Monger was a lesson well learned when the refrigerator stayed almost empty (We don’t get food assistance) for a month. If I was still working buying these things would have been a breeze, but what happened to me at work wasn’t a covered injury and Lawyers would touch my case with a ten foot pole because of who they would have had to go up against. So I collect less than half of what I earned working, and my wife works for only a little over minimum wage. If I could give this hobby up I would, but it’s what I’ve been doing since I was five (I turn 50 in a few months), and I just can’t give it completely up.
What does a diecast figure add? Other than the expected weight gain, I don't know, & that's part of the reason why I want one. I don't know what it's like, but I want to know. I guess I'm paying for the figure, & the experiencei for one don't care about die cast, what does it add?

its V1 for HT so the risk of issues is high.
i'm curious, but i certainly wouldn't hesitate to cancel the PO given a reason.

This might be the cheapest retail price HT will ever go for a diecast figure. Seems like a good chance to cure some curiosity, before they price them ridiculously if they get popular among collectors.
