Hhhhmmmmm.....I'm reading a lot of blind optimism in these answers..
:lol

"a customs sample is something that a company sends through whilst they are making sure that Luke Skywalker is exactly the same as its proto and is every star wars fan's dream toy"

Guys, these sets are done, finished, packed, ready to ship or allready shipping.
Don't get your hopes up to high.

I don't buy this "customs sample" apologetic excuse. So HT releases horrid samples to customs because..???:slap

This customs sample was given to the Honk Kong store MONTHS ago, acording to the statement from JC Hong.

I'm not buying it, mate. It just feels like BS. That head is a mass manufactured head. It may not have been QC'd because it had a nose rub on it.

Listen lets hope, it's a grail for me too, I just have a bad feeling about this...

I'm obviously taking everything with a giant grain of salt, but I believe that HT would give customs an early, WIP figure for them to reference as a "representation" of what will be shipped, instead of a production figure that they can sell. Whether or not what we've seen is the customs sample...people do **** up, it could have been put out by mistake, and it wouldn't have to be out long for DJ-Douchenozzle to snap a photo and post it all over the internet. Not blind optimism here, just saying it's plausible.

I'm holding out for more pics, but make no mistake, I am fully preparing myself to be disappointed.

Agreed anything is plausable....we will see soon enough!

I believe the pics are of the final product but the sculpt/paint look worse than they actually are due to harsh/unflattering lighting.

i have been saying that and hope that is true. Bad lighting/pics ruin alot of nice sculpts....
However there is something about it that looks so bad I wonder..

Well after shipping and customs, these sites may still be cheaper for you anyway. :dunno

Possibly but I think with going with SS, you get your points, very good FedEx shipping (which can arrive in Aus within 5-6 days!) and the customer service is pretty good. Plus they give you call backs.

I'm not so much bothered about the price in a relative sense, once I get above around $250, whatever it is better be bloody good!! :)

I agree with Primeclone, the pictures put up here are correct I think. Just terribly bad lighting and a possible material change.

I'm positive OMG probably has this in his possession as we speak. He had the DX 12 Batman 7-8 days prior to making is photo review.

Those pics were of the real deal, this guy is out now.

Haven't been reading the thread have we?

What purpose does a 'customs sample' serve exactly? Just curious.

It gives the authorities an indication of what that shipment contains, usually meaning it can be fast tracked through clearance!

Lots of companies make samples like this, TV's that are just an empty shell etc. You don't send customs the actual genuine product.

But how/why this would end up mistakingly being displayed in a store I don't know?

I'm convinced no one in this thread has a clue what the facts are regarding this figure.

I am also convinced that Tom Cruise is an alien.

That is all.

I'll see your Alien accusation...not only that.... but I'll RAISE you by implying he is actually an Ancient Extraterrestrial.

I'm not saying he's an Alien....but he is an Alien...
Rest assured this all based on solid speculative fact.
