DEFINITELY recommend getting one!

Sallah

Is that the 1.0 or the 2.0 or the 2.5?

I've got 1.0 version.....seriously, you can't imagine how good it turns your figure if you don't have it in hands.

Here is a video I did on the original release awhile back-

Great pics, Salla. While I won't say it takes no futzing whatsoever, I will say it takes very minimal futzing.

Tony's cape is nice but I still prefer the HT cape, de-wired. To me it looks more like what he used in the movie. The texture is right. It's a pity HT just didn't include one with the set. Maybe with Returns? That'd be great.

Tony's cape there looks close enough for me and the folds look right. The HT cape is just a lost cause. I think anyone who has managed to make that look natural just had a stroke of sheer luck. I spent the length of Alien 3 special edition on it last night and ended up no better than what I started with, perhaps worse even.

That sounds like a good laugh. I don't mean that as insulting.

It's a real shame because you can see that they made a real attempt to get it to do everything from in the movie. A lot of effort and construction went into them.

Such a pity.

Me too. I have Tonys but prefer the HT.

On the other hand I'm not sure I want to ruin the stock capes ability to do the Bat-Wings thing.....

Yeah... even though I've never tried to pose him that way. Hmm, idk I kind of like the cape the way it is. It took a lot of folding and doesn't look as good as the de-wired version or Tony's but I love the texture and I will keep it as is

I did the de-wired cape mod & took all the inner lining out & was still a nightmare for me to get it to not look like a tent was just placed on him lol. I just left the Tony Meis Ver 2.0 cape on him now & binned the HT cape it constantly annoyed the hell out of me. The only thing i do miss is the opportunity to have the cape fully extended with the included rods. But theres no way im messing with the Meis cape just to try & get this.

So it sounds to me like I should proceed with getting the Tony Meis cape first chance I get. I'll keep the HT cape for the batwings thing if I ever choose to pose him that way. Unlikely actually because I worry about stretching the suit and putting pressure on the shoulder joints.

:lol I think some people just have a knack for it. There is a handful of people that managed to get the stock cape to look great. Jokes & Bats is one of them. It was just too much for me so I bought a second cape when they were still reasonable and took the inner lining and wire out. They biggest problem you'll have with this miod is getting rid of the gray inner part of the cape. Some used watered down acrylic, marker, dye....all of the above. :lol

They did. I love the material. I really wish they included a regular cape with no wire.

Me too. I have Tonys but prefer the HT.

:hi5:

I missed the part where Fiend mentioned the ''de-wired'' HT cape. Any pics of that?

I'll look some up. I think I have some pics but none that show the cape off. I think it was shadowfla that had some fantastic pics of what it looks like de-wired. Raymond Ferraro had some too.

yeah mate i think the HT cape is ideal for the extended pose as it does not need to lay flat or be bunched up to look good in the natural pose. But yeah the meis cape is ideal for the standard posing. only took 4 days from tony to me in the UK too ;)

It was his guide that I tried to follow, I bookmarked it ages ago. I just couldn't manage it though. You correct one fold and you create another ugly one right next to it in a constant cycle. I was getting dangerously frustrated.

For one of mine I used the stock cape. After about a half an hour or so I got it to sit right and look perfectly. It took a lot of patience and careful folding. I also stored it on it's back in an acrylic case for a couple of days so the cape would lie flat naturally on the back. I'm really impressed with it. I didn't have the heart to pull the wiring out, even on the duplicate cape that I got.

I did get two Tony Meis capes though and they're pretty good too. I swap them out from time to time with one of my others. I plan on using the other one on the Returns suit version.
