The chest doesn't get damaged until the fight in the steel mill when the T-1000 slams a big steal thing into it .

Probably when he jumps off the liquid nitrogen truck as it slides on its side into the steel mill. Looks like he lands on his knee and tumbles at speed.

Yep... But only one knee? He rolls like a ball in that scene... No piece of clothing can survive 1000 pound metal rolling on a floor. He shld have pretty much be left with rags.. That leather is stronger than t1000 i say...
