I wondered if there had been any alterations to the proto so I compared it today by holding my DX10 sculpt up to the computer monitor. It's still the same down to each individual wrinkle.
The one thing that's apparent in some pics - is the width of the head.

That hurts the likeness quite a bit, I feel..

I am wondering why would they do massive changes to the headsculpt from dx10. In my view the only work they will do is the BD part and may be minor paint changes to match the effect. But pretty much it would be the dx10 sculpt. They were not made years apart and am sure hot toys will use economies of scale to achieve the objective of keeping their mfg cost lower.

Long answer short, the head sculpt fundamentally (structurally) wont be different from dx10. At least thats what i believe!

I hope so. I love the DX 10 head sculpt.

Exactly. They had already spent extra time and money to resculpt the DX10. No company on earth would turn around and resculpt again an approved final likeness like that. It's absurd to think so, and completely contradictory to the timeline, decades old established processes, and basic logical thinking. I try to educate to no avail though. Belief trumps reality.

The picture on the previous page is awesome looking in my opinion.

I would say that it looks a little bit aged compared to the DX10 head sculpt which would be a good thing but maybe a bit of the youthfulness on the DX13 is lost on the sculpt due to the BD.

Still hasn't swayed me to get him yet.

Interesting observation, but am sure thats the paint effect and sculpt is same. But you nailed that observation.
As far as getting it... Hmmm i did order it and resisted multiple ones. It was tough but manged somwhow.

That is my only complaint with the DX10 was the youngish looking Arnold.

He does look great with the shades on and even with the shades off he looks great but just a tad too youthful.

I haven't got that urge yet to buy him but I wouldn't like to pay the inflated price that will happen in the future.

I'm losing track of your opinions, I thought you liked the DX10 sculpt?
when i had 6 of them AND met some real T2 screenshots, all that stuff several people talked about DISlikeness suddenly became obvious, and i became sick with sculptors who for some reason cannot just copy the face! and i mean every toy/figure factory, not HT.
people in ancient Greece and Rome could do that, and in the third millenium with all the technology it suddenly became impossible. bull****!

To be fair, people in ancient Greece and Rome weren't sculpting 1/6 scale figures of Achilles and Julius Caesar :lol But I see what you mean. Still, there is no such thing as a perfect sculpt. Even the best head sculpt is not 100% accurate, unless of course, they use a digital scan of the person or actor.

Cheers P., I wasn't trying to call you out (for an argument), I was genuinely curious. Yeah its not definitive. There really hasn't been one that is as close to perfection as I would like except the Enterbay BD. Everything else has been flawed in some annoying way.

MMS117/136 - squashed, overly square face, pinhead effect compared to body
DX-10 - Hideous neck and head/neck connection especially in profile view, PERS detracts from frontal view, hair too round and puffy from some viewpoints
DX-13 - based on DX10 and thus will probably carry over its flaws
NECA - nice hair and head-shape, nice sculpted neck that actually looks specific to Arnold as opposed to some generic, undetailed horse neck but funny looking mouth area, lower quality overall etc

i'd never think you call me for an argument (not that you cannot but that i wouldn't be ready for that), you're one of the most correct persons here, plus you usually understand silently what i cry out loudly ))

I was wondering if you could help

is hot toys doing 1/6 terminator figure from the police station shoot out?

they have posted a T2 headsculpt with lame glasses on it and with a photo of perfectly made AR-180 and SPAS-12, saying it's a future 1/4 police massacre version.
no news since and no rumors about 1/6.
everybody hopes.

I REALLY hope they do it 1/6 scale - it would be typical they don't!! The DX13 is my fav T2 look and the shoot out my fav T1 look.

it would be MUCH better at 1/6.

I am not a the greatest fan of the 1/4 stuff HT or EB produce.

I dunno why HT started getting into 1/4 stuff. Purely just for the $$$$

I'm sorry for this rant ....

In my opinion They kick enterbays *** when it comes to 1/6 scale. I am by no means an artist but to bring something with the level of detail they put into their product at such small scale is fantastic. Only reason enter bay do the 1/4 stuff is the just can't compete in the quality of sculpting, paint app and tailoring hot toys produce. I don't mean to offend anyone by this. It's just my opinion. :)

Now EB has done some decent 1/4 scale figures hot toys probably wanna take that crown too.

Rather than try take over the 1/4 scale and add another workload on top of the back log of stuff. Let enterbay get on with whatever they do and focus on hitting home runs on the licences they have but we havent even had sniff at - Back to the future, batman returns to name two.
