I'm waiting until I see the rest before I'll order.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 253 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Groot & Rocket

You people paying that kind money for this are out of your god damn minds..seriously certifiable.. you need help.

And.. I don't care if you are worth millions.

I'm seeing $200 tops for the pair, $80 for the raccoon and $120 for the other thing. HT could have still made a killer profit charging those prices.

(had to get that off the chest, rant over, won't be back in this nutso thread, enjoy the raping):wave

Thank you for expressing your opinion without criticizing others .... Oh wait :wave

Not ok.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 253 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Groot & Rocket

It's a possibly a wild theory but I'm guessing that making money would be the reason.

I was just thinking if they haven't done a 5 pack with a license like Iron Man 3, it seems like an unlikely risk to take with a relatively unknown license like GotG.. I appreciate there are quite a number of comic fans on this forum, however peeps who have not read the comics know next to nothing about these characters.. the franchise will stand or fall on the first film.. like the first Iron Man.. or Green Lantern.

Oh yeah thats actually a really good point. I'm surprised they didn't do a house party protocol pack. I'm sure that would have sold

Doesn't it usually say it is a Sideshow exclusive on their site if it is one? I wonder why the 2-pack doesn't?

It did in the email I got, 'Available nowhere else'.

If I did not know any better I would think this guy was my husband - although $200 would still be too high for him........:rotfl

Sorry to hear that. I hope he isn't too bad to you about it.
On a side note, a comment like what Vortex said really speaks to someone's character...or lack there of.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 253 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Groot & Rocket

Man this release has really brought the whiners out (not on here but over on other pages, particularly the Facebook groups).

Is it necessary for people to comment that they aren't going to be buying this because they are trimming down their collection or that they don't like GotG or other pointless meaningless drivel that no one cares about? (welcome to the internet)

Regarding the price for Rocket, perfectly justifiable. It's $30 more that Threezero's Tyrion Lannister figure which will be about the same scale, this is from an established high quality company who have proven themselves numerous times, well worth the extra $30.

Regarding a five pack, can't see why Hot Toys wouldn't do one. I'd buy a five pack over singles. Why? Same amount of money with extra stuff. A five pack is no more sweat off their backs than it is to produce 5 individual figures boxed up. People getting the whole team buy the set, people who don't get the individuals Hot Toys still makes the same amount of money either way.

Rocket's prison outfit is missing so either HT scrapped it or we're getting another release sooner or later.

Agreed, $160-200 is the cheapest you'll see Hot Toys retail for the rest of your natural born lives.

If that isn't worth it, those people can always try Hasbro.
