i see. one more question, is mk2 design created in the movie??? or it has been around since long time ago.

i never read any comics but i know red gold suit is the one that iron man always wears. never know anything about MK2 and not aware of where they get this design from>?? comics??

what about MK1???

The Mark 1 armour is based on the suit in Tales of Suspense #39 which shows the origin of Iron Man.

The Mark 2 suit is a movie creation that is not found in the comics.

The Mark 3 suit was designed in collaboration with Adi Granov who designed the look of the Extremis armor in the comics. The Mark 3 movie suit has some visual cues from the Extremis suit, but is still very different.

I think Mark 2 vs 3 would be close, but 3 had the updated material used for the suit (to solve the ice build-up issue). Mark 1 had no repulsor technology and was extremely heavy and was powered by the 1st arc reactor chestpiece.

what do you guys do with all the interchangeable parts? Store them in the box, or display by the figure?

I'm quite p****d off with this now getting included with the Sideshow version, its gone from being ONLY available with Toy Hunters then now you can get it from SC as well, after people have pre ordered it from elsewhere, bad show HT.

Almost like releasing a second version of a figure with a genuine likeness head sculpt after the first one had been made with no reference material.

Great stuff if you waited though.

Usually mine is in the boxes unless I can display them properly...

I've learned to mainly wait on SS before going to other sites, it's benefit me in the past!!!

People have been saying all along that the Toy Hunters exclusives Hot Toys has had (like the Cleaner Predator), Sideshow has gotten as well. Since Sideshow is the only place I know of that gets Hot Toys exclusives, it pays to wait on ordering until Sideshow pre-orders just in case they end up with an exclusive.

I imagine you can cancel at where ever you ordered your MK II from and order Sideshow's.

Based on the number of retailers that were able to get the Mark 3 and the number or rumors speculating that SS would be getting the Toy Hunter exclusive bust for the Mark 2, I felt waiting to pre-order was the smartest thing to do. When they do the next to HT Iron Man figures, I imagine more people will be waiting to see if there's a SS exclusive.

I like this one the best. It doesn't need chrome, it's just perfect like that. The extra "bust" is nice.

I preordered this from Sideshow yesterday. I'm not a big Iron Man fan, but the display bust for the spare head was the selling point for me. It's like getting a free 1/2 figure.
