There are those of us who are buying doubles to enjoy and not to invest in them to eventually make money off so with that in mind it would make no sense to keep it sealed. Go over to the T-1000 thread and check out the madness there like everyone has 3-4 and having a great time.

Well i can see why you would buy more then one t1000 with there being the option to build the police bike version(and there are many ht figures like this), but two iv's?? ..so you can dislay one without the helmet is daft imo ...and people are calling me mad for buying kato's custom clothing:cuckoo:, atleast i don't buy two or three of the exact same figure.

I don't get the buying multiples either myself. To me kinda dilutes my interest. I don't really have any problem with people doing it, assuming they're not trying to make money doing it†. I just don't understand it and sometimes ask questions trying to figure it out. I never get it though.

† It's both a really silly way to try to make money and not great for the hobby. At best it causes all sorts of animosity and at worst we have the 90s comic boom.

I've bought two of the Mark VI and V. They have BD parts that I want to display. So in order for me to show both off and I hate switching stuff out every so often this is my preferred way.

I can understand that for the VI but the V has very little battle damage ,not enough imo to justify buying a second figure....and for me a display that has multiples of the same figure look's really weird.

Is it really worth the cost of a whole second figure so you don't have to remove an arm and two plates on his chest?

I have 3 mk 4s, one with each head sculpt and one to have in my hall of armor display, I see nothing wrong with that, I paid retail price plus shipping, its my money and my right, lol plus I have 3 mk 6s coming and 2 mk 5s, I can afford it, and I LOVE iron man, so what exactly is wrong with that, ps, I reserve the right to sell what I want, when I want for however much someone is willing to pay!

I'd find that two of the same figure in a collection look's ____ed up ...but that's just me:)

:exactly: Since I don't look at this hobby as an investment to make money, there's no point in keeping a figure sealed for that reason. Some people do and that's there prerogative.

Bought him from Q over at Frank and Son on Wednesday night. Absolutely amazing figure.

Well my point was that if I wanted to have two for collecting then likely I would want to display them so why would I care if the second stays sealed as that really only is for the purpose of keeping up the max value...
As for how ppl display and collect that is just too subjective to make a quick judgement. I love the IV look both TS head and IM helmet and to me both are so uniquely awesome that I want both to show at the same time as well.
why do ppl love to judge others? If you own 5 x DX02s or 4 x IM MIV good for you, if you bought the Kato DX01 outfit for $XXXX great. You got the Bobby C Joker head.. nice!! remember when you judge you do it mostly for yourself and no other reason

Just let people buy what they want. You went over this before over at the T1000 thread last year. No one going to change their collecting habits because it bothers you. Live and let live.

I never expected anyone to change there collecting habits ..i just found there habits strange and not like my own so i felt i should question them as to why they collect that way..just being curious:peace

P.S ..I don't like being accused of judging people.

The scratch paint are unique in some ways from figure to figure.... I've three (3 different heads, covers most of the variation in the IM2 movie) Mk.4 & all have some differences in scratch decals.... I've a 4th Mk.4 coming..... maybe getting a 5th bash to be a Mk. 6 with parts from Mk.6

A 4th variant of Mk. 4 .... would be on Stark expo with the armour being disassemble, which maybe why HT have the removable chest plate (Aside from preparing for Mk. 6, which they have remolded anyways)

Has a whole arm thats messed up, hand, and the chest is messed up. So for me it was enough to justify it. I don't really think one way about it. I personally can't wait to have the two distinct ways the Iron Man figures will look this way.

Yeah, totally is to me.

Just out of curiosity, I had just received my mark iv from sideshow (first time ordering from them) and was surprised they only shipped it with the brown hot toys mailer without any additional packaging. I understand this is to keep shipping costs down but it doesn't offer much in the form of protection. Did anyone here receive their items with dents or scuffs as a result to the actual mark iv packaging? Do other vendors provide better packaging?

Sideshow has that reputation. All the other dealers I've ever bought from pack the shipper in a bigger box and pack it with styrofoam or paper.

For those of you that wish to buy multiples of the same figure more power to you.
You do not have to justify a reason "why" to anyone.

For what it's worth, I have only 1 for each of the figures in my collection.
