Hey, how come only that part is faded. Is it made of rubber or something? I have some old Galactus marvel legends figure that has faded metallic part because it was painted on rubber.....

Ya its rubber ..but it never had a proper paint job to begin with ..you could say the rubber faded and not the paint, because there was no real paint there to begin with, but the battle damage m3 got a proper paintjob..so it won't fade, and the same is given to new ironman figures, so you have nothing to worry about.

I also thought the fading only occurred on the first MK III when the figure was in direct sunlight.

The difference in the rubber to plastic is far far more noticible in pictures, at least to my eye. I didn't notice it at all on my original mkIII until I took photos.

Ah well, the thing is, the last picture on the page before this shows BD MK III. Which erik was replying to.

I don't know why they decided to use rubber on the first version anyways. Seems dumb on a suit of metal armor.

That really sucks. Has anyone else's BD version faded?

I knew it was a problem with some people's original version but I hoped they had fixed it. And if no one knows what causes it there is no way to prevent it.

yeah, i was referring to the BD iron man 3. I mean I just hope they decide to use another material for mark 4...if its gonna fade overtime, I might need to cancel my preorder..

^^^ Is that actually faded or is it just a strong flash? ..i really can't see how the bd can fade..

That's a good point. The rubber was always a slightly different colour to the plastic. Under extreme light, like the flash from a camera, it could appear if it has faded. I really hope this isn't a widespread thing. Mines behind glass and away from sunlight just incase but I don't know if that will help.
