They may have just gone with the 9 because the 8 needs Striker's thighs, and those molds are likely busy right now making Striker.

Who cares? The only Pepper-related accessory is the arm, which is correct either way. It's not like she actually wore the entire Mark 8 OR Mark 9.

We have an accurate MK9 and an accurate Extremis Pepper. I'm good to go. I'm sure we'll get an accurate MK8 down the line at some point too.

Oh I'm not complaining at all, especially since I like the Mark 9 far more than the Mark 8. It's just interesting that the Wiki and Hot Toys both got it wrong.

And yeah we all know there will eventually be a Mark 8.

That's a side view..both suits have gold on the side of the thigh.

I'm talking about the gold piece on the FRONT of the leg. It doesn't matter though, I think we're all convinced that Pepper killed the Mark 8, which we all know Hot Toys will eventually make anyway.

I'm happy with the Mark 9 they're making though and like its design more than the Mark 8 anyway.

Well this is a gigantic surprise. The best thing about it for me is that it means Peggy Carter is actually a real possibility now.

The Pepper headsculpt didn't look great to me upon first glance. Now that I'm really looking at it, I actually think it's a great likeness with the sole exception of the cheeks being too wide. If they could thin out the cheeks I think she'd be pretty much dead on. The helmeted Pepper head looks pretty much perfect though (which I think proves that the cheeks are the issue, since the helmet covers up her cheeks.) I'll probably get the two-pack since I need the helmeted headsculpt, but I'm wondering--is anyone planning to display Pepper in complete Iron Man armor, the way she was when Tony's house was falling apart in Iron Man 3? I think it might be a great look for her and I'm definitely considering it.

Well given marvel had to approve this before it got shown, and they are not some fan site(iron wiki) nor people using blurry screen grabs and guess work (Us) I'm willing to bet they know what armor it was intended to be. Yea know, since they did it. From the info we have you cant tell for sure either way.

Except you can't see the front of the leg. That's what I was pointing out.

And what you can see is red. There's a gold glow from peppers glowing extremist arm.

I know Iron Man figures sell well and all, but I would like to add some variety to my collection. I welcome releases like Pepper.

Maybe I'm just looking at the picture wrong, but I thought the area with the gold piece was the front of the leg?

Oh well. I don't see a reason to escalate this into another debate. Like you said, Marvel had to approve this and only they know what armor it really was supposed to be, while we're stuck here using blurry pictures.

So the Mark 9 isn't a complete Python repaint- it has a different waist/crotch piece.

Twice now I'm more interested in the EX head than the actual figure itself (Mark 43, and now this). I didn't expect to see Pepper announced at all, so good for those who've been waiting for her.
