I don't think so... MJ is huge in Asia, and in Europe, so that'll keep the prices high... methinks...
Well, I don't have any clue how many Thriller MJs were released, but they went on discount in many places in this country. I paid nearly $200 for mine up-front, but have consistently seen them sell on eBay for nearly $100 less.

I've been searching around recently and thiller mike is around $150+ , with out shipping, but all those sellers are from asia. I've seen them cheaper in the past, maybe Beat It Mike drove up the prices a bit.

Also, Christmas probably drove the price up. I haven't been paying much attention recently, but I've seen quite a few go for $120 or less shipped in the past.

Yeah, I've been watching 'Thriller' every now and then on eBay and every time I've seen it it seems to struggle to get over $120 - 130. A lot of stores still seem to have it in stock and discounted, too (BBTS has it for $145, for example). I've got a brand new and unopened 'Thriller' in the cupboard behind me here, I thought I could retire on it down the line, that's why I've been following the prices.

I wouldn't use 'Thriller' to judge how future Jackson figure prices might go though, 'Bad' is probably a better indicator.

4000 figures for 'Beat It' seems like quite a lot though. Even if Jackson is huge the world over, and I don't doubt that, it's quite something to spend just $150 on a figure like this the first time. I really don't think it's an easy, done-deal even if you're the most diehard Jackson fan and so if it does end up being stocked by more of the usual retailers I personally can't imagine the figure disappearing anytime soon nor such prices being maintained.

Just wait for supply to dry up...prices will go up then. They always do.
This could definitely be the case, but that could be way down the line like it was for Iron Man Mark II. I don't think 4,000 is something that should make people freak out. I could be wrong, of course, but the SDCC exclusives were released in significantly smaller numbers than these, and are available now at fairly reasonable prices (I suspect that Hot Toys Predators are roughly as popular as Hot Toys MJ worldwide, all things considered).

Yep agreed. It's inevitable, but like you said, the length of time for it to hit depends.

Since HT never gives out production numbers for its regular stuff, you can't even be sure that 4000 is 'limited' or not. :thud:

Still no confirmation from amiami. I ordered one as soon as I saw the link, and it gave me a App. ID #,so I know it went through.

Anyone know when Toys2 is supposed to start a pre-order for these? I want to keep my options open just incase I can't get one from amiami.

atleast amiami got comfirmation from hottoys

toys2 problay got people ordering from amiami

The SDCC exclusive Iron Man Mk. II is available now at fairly reasonable prices? They are currently $475-500. Were they a lot more before or something?

Eric is keeping a waitlist...He told me he will get everybody on the list one. Needless to say I put my name down on said list.

And that is the reason speculation is difficult. But last year's exclusives were numbered, supposedly in the 300-500 range, right? And they aren't exactly going for insane money right now. I do think that Guardian Predator will eventually be a highly desirable figure, however.

At one point, it was on Sideshow's gift card list and they were giving them away in contests because no one was buying.

Collectors will be collectors...when something is in abundant supply, you don't want it as much. As soon as it's gone, something in our brains tells us that we must have it.

Yep. I wish I was immune to that urge.

If only I could go back in time and pick up that Mark I for $120 or whatever from Go Hastings. I actually helped some other folks get it for that price, and passed myself because it looked out of scale with the Mark III. Which, of course, was the figure I wanted and couldn't go without. :lol

I had a similar dilemma. I had to choose between the Mark 1 and the Hellboy from their site. I chose to get the Hellboy, figuring it would add variety to my display. I love the HT Hellboy...but wish I would've gotten them both at the time.
