Well it was rumoured to have cost $200 million to make, so with-
Opening W/E $43 mill
Domestic: $125,322,469
Foreign: $245,999,426
Worldwide: $371,321,895
It wasn't a flop, but it wasn't a huge success by any bodies standards. I'm just hoping McG has a good story arc planned, but we shall see.

I've read the geist of the 2nd movie. it's not good at all! I reeeeeeeally hope they change it. :banghead :banghead :banghead
It's actually worse than the 1st. Heck, T3 was better.

If heath ledger was alive he would have played a better john connor.

I really don't think so, Heath was a great actor, but the Connor written and presented in T:S is not a role for showing off acting skills, it was a slightly enhanced supporting role and only because of John's importance to the lore.

Bale's not the best actor ever, but Connor in T:S was not a very deep role either, it was more doing things than acting, fight, shoot, run, Marcus was a far more developed and humanized character in T:S. I wasn't dissappointed with how Bale played Connor, I was dissappointed he had so little to do with him.

And here's my custom battle damaged Marcus.
Thanks to DIzzy who sculpt and cast me the nedo chest parts!!

Also i removed his ear since in the movie he hasn't. lol

Read at own risk. P.S. I really hate MCG.
“[... ]the next movie is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011… John Connor is going to travel back in time and he’s going to have to galvanize the [sic] militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion. They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be ^^^^^*ing awesome. I also think he’s going to meet a scientist that’s going to look a lot like present-day Robert Patrick [who famously played the T-1000 in Terminator 2], talking about stem-cell research and how we can all live as idealized, younger versions of ourselves.” MCG

I won't blame McG, I blame the studios if they allow his vision to become reality.

Franchises are like a child, good production companies are strict with them and control them so that they grow up the way they started out, bad ones let someone else eventually parent the child and the offspring eventually skews way off from how it started growing up. If that vision is greenlit, shame on the license holders for letting McG raise their child that way.

I just hope that version NEVER happens because I won't even bother seeing it if it does. My terminator nightmares have been far greater that that MCG crap.

I am willing to forgive TS (this isn't the future my mother warned me about), but not that version of T5.

Same, while T:S wasn't the future war I'd dreamt of seeing since the notion of a series of movies based on it was tossed out there, and imagined since the days of T1 and T2, but it was ok and fine in an evolutionary sense that it starts that way and evolves into something more like Cameron's vision, but the idea outlined in your post is just crap, it's really losing any sort of purpose and conveys a sense, which is even direct from McG's mouth in that posting, that they're just coming up with what would seem cool.

Yup......sad.
FYI, I just time traveled to the future.
It's really not as cool as MCG makes it out to be.

Well...first off, both of these articles were out months ago, before the film's final BO tally was in...add to that the financial mess the producers are in (lawsuits, the Terminator rights possibly being on the block again) and the scenario McG mentioned in those articles seems pretty unlikely.

I liked TS....and there are a lot of interesting directions the next chapter could go...but I think that whole premise proposed by McG seems pretty bad. It almost makes me question if he SAW the movie he made. No more time travel to the "present" please! Aside from that whole idea being more of a budget gimmick (cheaper to film on back lots and city streets than creating an original "future" environment) - there are still plenty of interesting directions the story could go in the new timeline (future) rather than resorting to the overused "past".

Heck, we only got glimpses into that "future" and nary a taste of terminator battles and he wants to go back to the past? Why?

If the cards fall in place for McG to continue with the T saga, I hope he takes another look at what direction he wants to take it...

Cheers FB... but I almost wish I hadn't asked.
Sounds like ID4 and War of the Worlds meet Terminator... and that can't be a good thing. I still can't quite forgive Spielberg for not making War of the Worlds the period piece set in Victorian England that it should have been, Hollywoods obsession with trying to set every classic story in a 'modern day American setting' has gone way beyond cliché!

From the quote from McG, he seems like he just doesn't understand about time travel. You can't be in 2018, before they send the t-800, second t-800, or t-850 (stupid, seems like no advancement or improvement, just a new name), and do what he said. Then
when they send Arnie back in T's 1-3, he shouldn't be completely naked or without a plasma rifle

BTW, McG is not his real name. It is (seriously) McGinty. And as for the future war in TS, it isn't replacing the Cameronian future war, it's just a precursor to it. It's like in Star Wars, the clone troopers didn't replace stormtroopers canonically, they were just what came before.

No disrespect, but does anyone understand time travel?

The theory is so full of anomalies you can tie yourself in knots. How far do you want to take the notion? Once Skynet knew that a re-programmed T-800 saved JC no less than 2 times, why not just redesign the T-800 in a different way... or plant a bomb in every T-800 at the point of manufacture that cant be removed without it self destructing and can be remotely detonated when Skynet chooses. When dealing with any story... but especially a time travel story there comes a point where you just have to let go and try to enjoy the ride.

My review for this bad boy is nearly in the can, here are a few pics-
