Someone mentioned that Hot Toys had fixed the "thumbs", but I couldn't find a picture reference - apparently some editing has been done already, but I haven't seen any differences. That skull is going to drive me nuts, it's Giger-esque for sure but I'm becoming slowly less tolerant of Hot Toys' little 'liberties' in their 1/6 figures; and THEN of course, when they make an inaccurate BUST (like of the ALIEN) they have to be consistent and convert those little details to the 1/6 scale figure. So they're consistently inaccurate, but just film-accurate enough to keep us hooked.

I just don't get whether they take some pleasure in re-designing such beloved characters in subtle ways - it couldn't possibly a licensing issue again... They really do seem compelled to express their ideas about how these critters SHOULD have looked...

I will give them credit for changing the skull and thumbs - I just double-checked Hot Toys' pics & I see the changes now; I guess I had just overlooked them before. There's still some odd details about the mouth and the blade on the tail (I believe) is too big, but this might be as accurate as Hot Toys can get

I really don't understand why WE the FANS had to point out the skull and thumb inaccuracies - they must just think we don't care, which is ridiculous considering how much we've dissected their products on these forums...

despite some dubious claims to the contrary, i've never seen any evidence that anyone from HT reads this message board, let alone care about our opinion of their products.

more likely, they get chewed out by whoever owns the license/likeness and are forced to make changes.

i agree that overall it's a very nice figure and imo represents the alien well enough.

I would like to see a custom of Dallas from the directors cut, becoming an egg. Seriously! That would look the bollocks with this figure!!!!

I like the Alien Queen, and I know there wouldn't be one if they had went ahead and used the idea of each egg actually being a cocooned-transformed host but seriously.. that whole idea would've been sick. And it gives that shot showing all those Alien eggs in the derelict ship a chilling twist and scarier feel imo.

I'm no biologist, but it seems really inefficient for the Aliens to have to capture beings and turn them into eggs, then use the facehuggers that are created by the eggs to attach themselves to other beings to turn into more Aliens, which would then have to go capture more humans for egg-creation.

It is still very creepy and cool, but pretty far-fetched from a biological perspective, IMO. And I'm no Alien expert, but I thought the Aliens actually ate some of the humans that they killed. I guess not?

I think they have more in common with parasites so, while far fetched, kinda makes sense that they use hosts to spawn. But as its all make believe anyway, who cares?!

Of course, it isn't a big deal, but I just started thinking of how convoluted they initially planned the whole process to be, and how inefficient it would be. I guess Cameron and other powers-that-be realized that, too, which explains how the queen creates eggs in Aliens.

And I get the parasitic component and have no problem with it. That explains the chestburster. But when you go an extra step and say that they need humans to also create the face-huggers, it seems like a bit much to me.
