Man, mine fell this morning because I had it in a somewhat precarious pose and I caught it on the way down but it his the edge of a shelf. I thought it was find but I just noticed some light scuffing on the left side of the dome :(

I have some super fine hobby sandpaper and I might try to sand it out. Will try it on something else first but with fine enough sandpaper I should be able to sand it out while maintaining the transparency.

Hmm... may do that. I also just realized I have a whole host a buffing and polishing wheels for my dremel. The 600 sandpaper I have isn't fine enough to get back to a full polish but it gets it close. The polishing wheels may get it the rest of the way.

VP is great. They might not be the absolute cheapest but they're damn close and in my experience very reliable.

I just ordered a slim TrueType from them Viking Playground and it arrived like 3-4 days later. They even refunded me $.67 as I guess they overcharged me for shipping :lol

First time buying from them, but very impressed with the service.

Also have him in-stock at Alter Ego... but I think its the same price.

Actually AE is lower by .01 cent. :lol

But since Viking is sold out I guess AE is my only option. Too bad, I'd like to start an account with Viking if they really credit you for shipping difference like you say. That's very cool.

WorGar, you asked if the Halcyon 1/5 tongue would work. My guess is maybe. I do not have that kit, I have all the others, from ALIENS to AR, but never snagged the first guy. So, if you get a photo of it with the tongue at full length, held next to the HT mouth for me, I can tell you if it will or not and why.

I meant to mention in my complaints list, that I did trim the tail tip down with scissors, as they left a nice sharp edge to the rubber, and shaped it much more to my liking. Not perfect, like the figure at large, but more acceptable when looked at than the tip it came with, that resembles the Spear of Destiny a bit to me.
Also I trimmed off the last three of the upwards pointing spiney bits on the back top end of the headrest, making it look much better in profile also.
The shoulders of mine have no gaps.
And I forgot to mention a biggie.
The tube from the back corners of his jaw. I have seen it both ways, kinda like Sega did it, curving up and back into the head, like HT did with a seperate molded tube, AND, like NECA did it, with a longer tube curving back down and into the upper shoulder behind the shoulder domes. Not sure which is totally correct. Need Sabres or someone to confirm that bit for me, as if they go into the shoulders, I might endeavor to switch them out, and make them point down. I don't want to try that until I know for sure though.
Gripe aspect of that, the spot where they come from the jaw, is a bit too high from the corner, but we all know the jaw extends down a tad too much, so maybe the sculptor, or HT at large, wanted to maintain some visual control on the lines by doing that and raising it a small bit.
Nitpicky? sure. Bothered to death? Not really. As long as I can fix it if I need to.

And any subracted/added teeth, need to be careful. I can EASILY see that better ones can be done, but I advise against adding much gum, unless you trim away the upper lip a bit. Might make him too gummy if you aren't careful. Still, I look forward to your solution. I might follow it if I am impressed enough that it warrants it on mine.
Best of luck!

Oh, and Dedguy, sorry about the fall. I drybrushed some clear gloss acrylic on mine in places, here and there, and on the dome in places to make is shine a bit more (Mine's dome was not very shiney) and there had been a small scratch on an area, and after a hit with the clear, it can't be seen.

You also get points with AE.;)

It's buried somewhere, but once I order my alien I'll try to dig it out. It's got the right look, but it may be well over scale.

:lol :lol :lol

Having fun on your weenie lonesome Ween? I had the same trouble and know that anything that impedes the opening of a new parcel is cause to take a breath, make a post, and get that sucker on out. I use my knees, elbows, hands, various forms of support and lean into it. Or you can open an end and another and remove the inner packaging to relieve stress on the outer packaging.

Push, Ween! PUSH!

:D

If I damage my box, you two are in big trouble! :D

No, you're not. Mine's like that, didn't notice until I saw your post. Looking at other photos I would guess they're all like that. Here's one that's pretty close to the same angle as your photo.

All the other photos I've seen that show the left shoulder from the back have the same gap.

Yep, mines like that... not something I'd ever notice though, have to really look for it!

Oh, and great shot kylej, and welcome aboard!

Well, I feel better knowing mine isn't the only one with this little defect. BBTS offered to swap me. Not sure if I feel like messing with it though. I may just be able to live with mine as is. As Wookster said, you have to really look for it to see it.

Fortunately Viking Playground is trying to help me w/my delima. They are very good w/customer concerns and email responses. I need to replace the entire arm. I won't do any surgery on the wrist portion. I hope to get this resolved by the end of Janurary.

I wouldn't do it, like I said, they all appear to be like that. Even of the people who said theirs weren't like that, their photos tell a different tale when they show the left shoulder.

I would just do the surgery. I broke mine after having it out of the box for 10 minutes and it worked for me. A couple minutes with a drill beats the hassle of sending it back.

Same here. Drilled a small hole in the busted peg, took my pocket knife and pinched the corner of the now hollowed out peg, lifted it right out. I love that HT gives us spare wrist pegs now.

Hehe, Master Wayne, I noticed the same gap on mine after he base jumped off the shelf & I thought it was impact damage... Maybe not, don't know now. It is on the same shoulder though.

The rib cage seems to be like a floating vest on the figure, I just worked it around/back & forth and minimised the gap. Might be worth a try.

Careful with those buffing wheels on plastic man, use a real slow speed or they melt an indent on the surface your polishing... :monkey2 Found that one out the hard way on my old MiniDisc player display.
