I would be more than happy to part with the stand for the Mark V, except that if i were ever to resell the figure it would then be incomplete; cant imagine many people would bite at an incomplete figure.I'm going to use them with the Mark II. I'm glad to be getting it, have you seen what there getting on e-bay for just the armor stand?
If nothing else sell it to offset the cost. Heck I'd make you an offer.
The grey parts are really quite dull, aren't they? Instead of being a shiny metallic paint they look like dull grey plastic. A chrome reflective finish on the grey parts would really push this figure over the top; without that, it just doesn't quite have the high-end collectible look it ought to have to justify the asking price.<object width="960" height="745"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/YcjPYUeFeLk?fs=1&hl=en_US&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/YcjPYUeFeLk?fs=1&hl=en_US&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="960" height="745"></embed></object>
Ive got Transformers with chrome parts and the scratches are not that unsightly. You can't even notice them unless you're looking for them, really. I think they should chrome the hell out of Mark V's silver parts. There is a process that you can spray on chrome to plastic, but I guess if you scratch it , it would look nasty next to the non scratch pieces. This silver looks more durable.
Less than a year ago the Mark III battle-damaged figure cost the same and had intricate gadgets and features from head to toe, plus a head sculpt. All this guy has are two battle-damaged parts and the standard light up points. And so Hot Toys trend of less for more continues, sadly.

I wish they'd not included the hall of armor stand and flying post; neither item has any relation to the Mark V seeing as how it doesnt fly (in the movie) and isn't displayed in the hall of armor. I'm a big fan of accessories but those two things are just there to help justify the steep price in my opinion.
BD Mk.3 is a complete redesign.... the only similarity to the older ones are the head, feet and hands....Better call the WHAAAMBULANCE!!
The BD Mk. 3 was a rework of an existing figure, remember.
The enormous cost of designing, engineering, and manufacturing a completely new figure was already absorbed by the original Mk.3. The opening hlemet & headsculpt were recycled from the Mk. 2.
The BD version merely had a new paint job and more armor gimmicks.
The Mk. 5 is similarly a newtype figure, with no chance for a retooling or reuse on any future figs. The molds for this baby are a one-off.
This major fact, combined with inflation, rising production costs in China, and the tanking of the US dollar as global currency is why the price point. Hot Toys isn't going the way of Hasblow any time soon.
Sounds like trolling to me....
I think you're right. What I don't understand though is why the hall of armor stand doesn't come with the Mark VI instead, where it would actually make sense. Personally if they need to throw in recycled parts to justify the steep price I would have loved to get the Mark IV head sculpt and an appropriately-fitting neck.I think its actually the other way around. The cost to produce this is just high so only way to make it seem more value added is to add stuff they can add with little added cost. What other accessory can they add that is still remotely relevant without adding up the cost much further but this stand? Besides so many have been asking for this stand to be included in other Marks so you can't just dismiss that voice. I think you should just go ahead and sell the stand if you don't have a use for it. This figure being this amazing I doubt you will loose much more than what you get for the stand when you do decide to sell it lateron

Okay guys it's cruch time i can only justify one purchase... Mark V or Mark VI???
Even with Hot Toys recent bodies who do have an opportunity to be rereleased (War Machine, Berserker Predator), they're giving collectors less accessories/features and charging more. And as popular as the Iron Man series is, Hot Toys can make up for the cost in sheer quantity. Sure there's more production cost in developing a figure like this, but they'll likely sell thousands of them as opposed to a few hundred assassin's creed figures.Better call the WHAAAMBULANCE!!

The lower legs were all new, the upper legs had to be modified for the flare deployment discs, the torso was all new to allow the removable chest armor, plating underneath, and shoulder rockets, the flaps on the back were all new, and the lower arms were all new to allow the arm gauntlet and new arm rocket.Nah. Just the boot doors on the calves to make them more screen-accurate.
My classic Predator from two years ago was conceivably a single-release figure, yet only cost $165 and came loaded with countless features, accessories, intricate parts, and even a custom base. And like that figure, Hot Toys could always do some unique event-exclusive re-release of the Mark V body, and likely will. Throw in an open helmet with a recycled head sculpt and some bonus battle-damaged features and people would pay $700 for the thing.
