pretty clear :lol

I always thought you were a good poster. I may have misunderstood your initial post but I thought we were having a discussion. To resort to stupid stuff like that makes me think I was wrong about you.

You obviously were wrong. That seems to be your meme.
This figure is bigger, not only in height, but in girth. I can discuss the figure all day long, but youre not discussing it, you're posting to troll and nitpick and somehow trying to say that a 13" figure isnt bigger than a 12" figure. Even if they were made to the same height there is still the extra girth this has on the streamlined Mark armours. Its not like we're having a discussion over differing opinions, you could have said that you didn't believe that the size difference was enough to justify that price difference, but you didn't offer opinion, you said it wasn't a bigger model which is just wrong.

Discussion leads to discussion, quoting someone to quibble and act like a jack *** leads to exactly what you got. I didn't say anything about you're feelings on where it should be priced, I can respect your opinion, but the fact is 13 is bigger than 12 whether you like it or not.

I really don't think its hard to see the mass difference in this armor and the Mark armors, not to mention they've already released the height as being larger.

13 inches is an average size for a sixth scale figure.

Rightly so but like I said IMO the price factor really is on the popularity of the figure and right now IM is one of the hottest things HT's sells which is why there jacking up the price so dam much. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying were getting a cheap product here but they are marking up the hell out this bad boy.

Gotcha, Yeah, there is that " this is popular so we can price gouge" effect on it as well.

I would like to interject at this point, that Ken Ham is a douchebox.
Now, on topic: This figure was MADE to be acquired with help from SS award points.
Until the recent delays of about four major releases, I would have had a butt-load of reward points coming in March.
In summery, this sucks... but I'll find a way to PO somehow... perhaps I'll sell a black market kidney.
Maybe Ken Ham will 'donate' one for my purposes, then Jebus can replace it for him.

I look the comments on OSR about people complaining on the price tag and it's the same stuff every time. HT makes too many Iron man and prices it too high. I personally don't mind, if you're in the hobby, you gotta be prepared to pay the price or simply pass on it, but no reason to whine about it over and over again. What's funny is the majority of the pictures people post on there are of Iron man and other marvel franchises, so I do not understand their rationale. Weird place. :lol Also, a MAJORITY of Hot toys' market goes to asia. They are NUTS for robots, Iron man, mecha etc and HT is really putting on their mining hats and going to work on their pockets. That partially explains the hiked price. Also, since it's 312 USD in HK and 400 USD in North America, the 88 USD or so factors for freight and whatever BS reason sideshow wants to throw out there. Rising overhead, inflation etc. etc. :lol

Man I so don't want to pay that outrageous price and yet that figure looks INSANE!!!! Well it's well over a year away so who knows.

$387 locally.. now thinking about it, it's $30 more expensive than the MoS PF. wow..
I'll give it a week before I finalize my decision.

$400 flat at Maxi. True, the price makes you think before pulling the trigger. I guess the thinking happens when a 1/6 figure costs as much as my 1/4 Hot Toys Batman, or even more than my 1/4 EB BD T800. Still waiting on the other dealers, but I might probably end up with Maxi -- they don't charge as much for the DP (it's painful to pay a large sum for something you won't have within another year and a half), and they accept credit cards for the balance at no added cost (which is illegally practiced by some dealers). Besides, they usually give early payment discounts (again payable through credit cards) :)

Edit: I'm actually thankful it's finally here. Had it been delayed for announcement for another year, only HT knows how much they'd charge by then.

Fun fact about metal marketing and artificial value.

Gold and platnum are in the same catagory of artificial value as Zamak. Though, for different reasons.

Another fun fact.. if the supply of Diamonds was not artificially restricted by the diamond industry, they would be cheaper than Cubic zirconia.

The issue here is that diecast haters are utterly convinced that the reason 1/6 figure prices are rising is because of diecast, therefore they hate diecast.. and that is all that matters.

It doesn't matter that plastic figures are pretty much the same price.. It doesn't matter that the plastic figures have also had manufacturing faults.. it doesn't matter that the plastic figures have had paint issues too.. What matters is the diecast conspiracy to justify higher prices for 1/6 figures.. The very long history of diecast collectibles is clearly irrelevant.. C3PO may be a fine figure but it isn't made by Hot Toys.. War Machine Mk. 2 may be a fine figure but who knows if it won't explode in three or five years time.. well 'rust' then explode.. and probably steal your car.. before rusting then exploding.. and voting Democrat.. Yup, that's diecast.. don't say you weren't warned.

It doesn't matter what you tell haters.. they're gonna hate.. its how they roll.

Maxi still offers early payment? I haven't seen them do that for a while now. Are they offering it for The Mechanic?

Yup, they still do. But I haven't POd much from Maxi (haven't POd much at all, anywhere LOL). The shipment batch last December had early payment discounts, though it didn't apply on some items like the Galactus 'quette. not sure about the Mechanic, man.

Well, I PO this yesterday on Sideshow. And even though I was hoping for a $350 pricetag, $400 really isn't all that bad. This figure is all I have on PO at the moment and am anticipating a very slow year for collectibles for 2014.

On another note, I can't stand the new look and design to this forum...

I beg to differ.... Compared to some of the things I have bought over the years, these figures on the cheap side. :)

I have voiced several rational reasons for not being enamoured of diecast, and none of them are cost.
