No, I've always seen what Wor-Gar sees. HT saw that we hated the original Jim Morrison sculpt and it was a case of "Oh heck, we need something quick, what have we got!?". A hasty rework of Indy later and you have the end result. HT can't sculpt Harrison Ford! Fear not though, Inigou has an ANH Han in the works, probably based on his Indy, so it will be stellar.

Now I know that this forum would disappear if we all took this to heart, but it might be a good idea to stop arguing human likeness with people. It's all so subjective, and we each key on different elements, and then judge them...subjectively. It's a bit like trying to argue someone out of liking the taste of chocolate...

So is the two pack (Han and Chewie) ever coming back? Should I buy these figures seperately?

I just got mine from BBTS amazing figures I am very happy with these guys.

Eh, I don't think there's anything wrong with stating your opinion on whether something has a good likeness or not. The problem just comes when people start accusing others of being delusional or having a screw loose if they don't happen to see it the same way.

Which seems to happen a lot in here. Lol

Exactly. I think that's my point. How many times have you been watching TV with family or friends and said something on the order of "wow, that person looks just like so-and-so" and had the rest of the room say, "dude, that looks NOTHING like so-and-so, are you blind?" Same thing. People honestly perceive things differently...and they're not "wrong"... they're just not as perceptive as me. It's probably genetics. :)

I think I just posted that because I really liked the idea of trying to talk someone out of liking the taste of chocolate, though...

Thought GrimSeed's side by side of Han and Indy was really interesting. The eye brows look nearly identical, but the sculpt still seems to have elements of the original prototype.

That Han/Indy comparison really is pretty fascinating. It does look like they took the basics of that Indy sculpt and redid it for Han. There are too many sculpt lines and other aspects that line up very closely between the two sculpts.

Almost seems like they started with the Indy even for the prototype and went pretty far away from it. And then moved it back toward the Indy sculpt due to the reaction to the prototype. New sculpt looks more like Ford now, but...the expression.

The Indy sculpt/paint is more of a caricature compared to the two Han sculpts though.

Same person from around the same age though, if it wasnt simliar wouldn't that then be weird?

But it signifies Hot Toys were happy to keep the exact same pursed lip and eyebrow expression, etc. rather than make it look like a different character played by the same actor but with a different expression. Just seems a little surprising that they wouldn't start from scratch to maybe capture a different Ford look.

We're talking about exact lines in the brow at the nose, cheeks, the shape of the chin, forehead wrinkles... things that could be slightly different but are actually exactly the same. So it's more weird that its so dead-on.... especially from a sculpt (Indy) which everyone hates.

:exactly:

The Indy sculpt does look HF from certain angles and under certain lighting conditions, and the Han's dead-on only in the same way - certain angles/lighting. They redid the jawline which helped, not sure why they lightened the frown lines. It's what the Han really needed.

Very strange find. Has HT been known to revisit sculpts?:lol

Well i guess you said it then, rushed. Still glad its way better looking then the indy though.

I always thought the revised Han looked a lot like the DX Indy. Something very derpy and cartoonish about it.
