I think it's saying a lot to say it's the best one to date, and yea I was thinking of even the Hoth Han one when I said it. I'm not saying the Hoth Han is terrible, though I passed on it, I just like the HT Han Solo better. I do think part of the difference between Sideshow Hoth Han and Hot Toys ANH Han is partly due to the fact that Ford himself looked a little different in those movies. Sideshow Hoth Han clearly is trying to look like Ford did in ESB and HT Han clearly is trying to represent how he looks in ANH. Perhaps our perception of what most "looks" like Han Solo has a lot to do with how we most remember Han Solo to be. My guess is though that HT has a good chance of showing SS Hoth Han up when they do Bespin Han. If that's how people remember him as Han Solo best than I suspect a lot of people will be happy when the HT Bespin Han comes out.

Well I'm sure the Bespin Han sculpt will be just as controversial as all the other Ford sculpts on here (and will probably have the same blank expression as well). But as long as it looks as close as this one does, I'll be happy. Whether this one has a genuinely good likeness or one that's simply grown on me over time, I don't know. But I do know I'd be really happy with it on my shelf now, which is all I really care about in the end.

:exactly: No Doubt, but that's ok. I think as fans nit picking it and managing our own expectation is part of the fun and par for the course.

Yea, me too.

Just out of curiosity, anyone have Han yet who also has Hot Toy's DX Indiana Jones? I would love to see some side by side pictures. I passed on it when it came out, but my new HT Han is making my Sideshow Indy look even worse than he already did! I need to upgrade to HT, the new SS Temple of Doom one, or a custom for sure.

Anyone know if the Han Solo head would fir the HT Stormtrooper?

It's not a perfect fit but it works--would maybe need a taller neck peg if possible or just don't push the head down all the way. Otherwise he kinda looks like he has no neck.

The head peg is actually too small so the head just goes on or off. I couldn't get the Stormtrooper one out easily enough to try Han's peg.

At 14.15 he accidentally refers to the ANH fig as a better representation of "Harrison Bored at that age" without realizing it.:lol

That looks pretty damn good. Head looks awesome there.

Pretty much like for like.
I still love my Indy fig, but there's no getting away from the fact that they have come a long way with the sculpting and paint application since then.

Have the Han in hand, and looks great. These pics that are 3x the size of the real thing kinda blow the weirdness out of proportion. In hand, I am seeing Ford strongly

Thanks for these side by side pictures guys :duff

I passed on the HT Indy when it first came around because the likeness didn't thrill me enough to upgrade SS one I had, but now with the HT Han Solo in hand and the other SS figures, like SS Han, are being removed from my shelves, my Indy is begging for an upgrade. With HT Farm boy Luke and ANH Leia on preorder Indy will soon be the only SS figure I have on display now, not counting those with helmets that cover faces like Vader and Boba Fett.

So, right now I kind of have one eye on Sideshow's upcoming TOD Indy to see if Sideshow has improved enough with sculpts and paint apps to go that route, or if I should pick up an after market Indiana Jones. I don't want to sidetrack the Han Solo thread too much with Indy stuff, so I'll pursue conversation about various levels of customization options on those threads. But I wanted to say thanks for the side by side pictures, when TOD Indy get's released, if I haven't already decided on what I will do by then, I'll be looking for side by side pics of HT Han with him too.

I would definitely wait for the SS Indy as it's supposed to be out in the next few months, barring the usual delays--the sculpt is nice and the paint apps will hopefully be better than the older HT one--unlikely that they'll be up to current HT figures based on what we saw with Jango Fett. The HT one is just not that impressive with the weird eyeliner look, plus it's expensive.

I'm not sure if I want anything but Star Wars, but I'm definitely considering the TOD indy, just waiting for final product pics.

It is funny that the Han and Indy sculpt have lots of similarities. Almost feels like they used it as a starting point in some way and refined some of the wonkier parts like the lips.

I'd always thought that there were a lot of similarities between the two sculpts. Seeing them like that confirms it for me.

I'm still waiting for my set to come in. I'd be surprised if I get Obi wan this side of Christmas also.

No, I've always seen what Wor-Gar sees. HT saw that we hated the original Jim Morrison sculpt and it was a case of "Oh heck, we need something quick, what have we got!?". A hasty rework of Indy later and you have the end result. HT can't sculpt Harrison Ford! Fear not though, Inigou has an ANH Han in the works, probably based on his Indy, so it will be stellar.
