One thing I'm noticing is that the fur seems like it could use a little more shine. The synthetic they use appears to have a more matte texture than the costume. I'd be tempted to use some high-end products on it to impart a little more of a satin finish. Of course, there's no going back from that... :horror

Wow - I never thought this day would come - Chewy is finished and shipping.:horror

This thing has been a pendulum swing from good to bad all along and it looks like the pendulum stopped right in the middle.

I'm just too curious to get my hands on this figure to wait for a V2.0 - and so far Chewy as seen in TFA is looking more prequel than OT to me, so not so sure that version would be for me.

I have a feeling this figure will be like SSC's ESB Boba Fett figure. Everyone crabbed about the chest armor, fit of the suit and the overall look... Until someone cracked the mystery of how to futz it to it's full potential.

I think chewie's body and accessories look awesome. The issues with the face are in the chin hair, the sides and brow. Basically the hair needs to be styled better.

I'm going to keep my order. I got a pretty good deal on it... I'm thinking after these HT ANH releases it's going to be TFA from here on in.

Those things definitely need to be done to make this figure look as good as it possibly can - it takes care of symptoms of the issue. The issue however, is the sculpt under the hair, so let's not give HT a pass here and chalk this up to unfutzed hair nor poor photos. They under-delivered and the customer will have to make up for it with skill and creativity - even if it's only using a brush.

I'm not sure if it's giving HT a pass... More like working with what you're given. All these figures need some futzing out of the box.

IMHO the only Chewie figures that ever captured the essence of the character was the 1977 hard plastic Kenner figures (big and small)... But I'm old school! ;)

I didn't want to be the first person to go there, but I agree. :) My 12" series is sitting only a few feet away from me and the jaw-line in profile is much more convincing.

There's a point to raising a stink though - at least somewhere Hot Toys can see the reaction. They'll know to go back to the drawing board for the next version.

I'll be ordering this guy later in the year, for now I'm practising my hair styling skills.

I'm keeping mine. If I canceled every time a boardies went all chicken little over pre shipping photos I would never collect anything.

:exactly::goodpost: It's always something, i have yet to pull a HT out of the box and be disappointed even after thinking about canceling from bad pics. This could be the 1st that lets me down but i'm going to risk it.

Too many chicken little's :panic: i need to order a 2nd I can already sense need to buy a double think he is going to be a lot of fun and favorite to pose n play with ,cant wait.:impatient:
