I wouldn't be so sure about that. They are pushing out a lot of OT characters at the moment, but once they've done the big hitters it will be full steam ahead with the ST and spin offs, with perhaps some PT in between.

Yeah, after this surge of OT goodness through the end of 2015, we may see TFA and not love it and then get 2 years of 1/6 TFA characters we don't really want shoved down our throats. Seems like Disney is abandoning the PT but HT would be crazy to not do Maul, Anakin and Padme.

I think it's smart of ht to do this because the rights are kinda borrowed each year cost money. so knocking out as many figures in one year saves them money and makes them money. they also know with the movie coming up it will open up people for nostalgia and these figures are primed for purchase. and with the cnn spot that brings attention to masses again to there existence. so free advertizement

Who knows how the license is structured but there is a logic to that idea. Their release schedule so far is mind boggling. Even more surprising that they didn't have anything ready at SDCC. Almost seems like they've been making all these figures with the plan to go through Sideshow, weren't crazy about the terms of the deal that brought out Bespin Luke, and so they held off on releasing another figure until they had their own deal and this is the result.

Don't worry, you will love it. It may even find a way to make the PT significant. It's well thought out. I am a bitter OT purist raised on the originals and from what I've seen...it will be very cool.

With something like this. it's about timing. HT is no dummies they saw the possible release date for the movie, they tested the waters with Bespin Luke, they didnt give anything away at sdcc because...wait for it.. Keeping your competition off balance. Slam dunk method. See they know Sideshow is releasing the droids, they know movie goers are going to go back to number 4 ANH because it's the brain child of Lucas films and it went over phenomenally. they waited as sideshow had there stab at it and medicom fumbled through it. and decided lets show people why we are hot toys. Guarantee you either by xmas or new years week we will see farmer Luke and Leia as a set/separates. that way by DEC of 2015 the collection will be completed for ANH main cast of characters.

We wont see any other stuff until maybe later after the dust settles.
I see them doing the droids but not until 2016 so there not stepping on sideshows toes. that and i think with cetain characters if one company has the rights i think the other company has to wait a certain frame of time because of the butterfly effect and giving people to many choices there going to go for the deal and that would be sideshow so it would be smarter to wait.

I didn't realize time travel was possible, but if it exists, I'm sure Disney has it.

They'll run out of ideas for the spin offs and just reboot the PT. It would actually be possible to get one more Vader movie by doing something that occurs between episode III and IV.

That's what I mean, I don't know when they struck the deal but they seem to have a lot of product ready all at once--as if they've had these prototypes in the works for a while. Han I believe had been rumored for a long time.

Im pretty happy with my ESB SSC Vader. The Hot Toys version will have to blow me away to make me want to buy it. I will probably just get Obi Wan single.

I agree, I don't see how HT could make a Vader much better than the one we just got from Sideshow. The only thing I'd really change on him is the body mod a lot of us did to make the suit fit more snug and not have such skinny forearms compared to the gloves and have the mask come apart like the medico ones. HT may eventually do one like that but the ANK version will just be plain and I don't see anything special they can do to it to make it much better than the latest vader from Sideshow.

Now if HT makes a ROTJ version Vader with a reveal head and take apart mask like medico did then I'll pick up that head LOL, no need to buy the same figure over again!!!

The old obi wan, I'll definitely get though, just because I never got the sideshow one and the HS will probably be a bit better on this one.

I'm not a SS Vadah hata. But the ESB Vader is only incrementally better than the ANH version imo (which I'm pretty happy with). And there are some details that are incrementally worse. If a HT version irons out all the things SS got wrong, I'll be buying it in a heartbeat.
