I'm considering to swap my ss anh belt boxes with ht anh. Someone have both and can post a comparision pics? Are ht boxes smaller or bigger compared to ss? I'd be happy even with a close pics of ht boxes. Thanks...:)

I can't find the post, but someone posted this pic of all the ss and ht vaders together. From the pic, it looks like the ht anh boxes are smaller.

Thanks, SS! :duff

I reluctantly picked up the entire figure after seeing a couple people commenting that the gloves would be impossible to get ahold of parted out. I wasn't convinced that would be true but then the figure sold out really quickly.

I also wanted to at least try out all the different parts as outside the gloves I wasn't sure which if any I'd prefer to the ANH versions. It's sort of a weird hybrid I've settled on but I'm very happy with it. Since I'm using all the glossy parts I'm considering also picking up the ROTJ sideshow chest/belt box and gloves to be able to go for that look once in a while.

That's cool. Yours is probably the best Vader I've seen on here that's a hybrid of ANH and R1 parts.

Great pic, but I wish they were side by side - how much you splay out the legs/feet alters the height and you can't quite see the feet in a couple of the figs.

And yeah, the HT RO boxes are bigger than the HT ANH boxes, and the RO buckle is more correctly proportioned (the HT ANH buckle isn't quite narrow enough vertically.)

Amazing the difference in all the ANH chestboxes - SSC = supersized, RO = regular, ANH = kids meal:lol

Ton-Ton, your Vader looks great. Nice job

Loving the new paint. I'm planning to do something similar to the chest armor of my ANH. What paint/shade did you use? And what was your process?

I'm guessing you lowered the helmet as well. I'm not confident enough to do that.

Thanks. I just did a lot of dry brushing of gun metal grey until I got the look into was wanting.

Yes lowered dome, nose plug pushed back and paper behind eyes to bring out brown color.

I also repainted shoulder armor and weathered the belt and chest boxes. I also modded the belt to move boxes closers to buckle.

He really is a mix of HT and SSC ANH Vader. I am quite pleased with the way he looks.

Up next, ESB Vader. He will probably take more modding than this one. :)

Amusingly, I've been reading the current Marvel Darth Vader comic, and - lo and behold! - I think we know which figure the artists are using as reference for their Vader depictions. :lol :clap

Definitely I need ht anh belt boxes...thanks for the comparision picture...

In case you still need another pic, here is the HT ANH (top) and SS ANH (bottom) belt box for comparison. SS is slightly longer, but HT is thicker front to back.

My Vader updated with some of the new R1 parts ( cape, tunic, gloves, shin guards, belt boxes, and mask.)
I keep going back and forth on the helmet. In the image above it's the R1 paired with the more matte ANH Vader helmet. Still not sure what I like better.
