Ok. Awesome! Thank you. I was concerned the RO hands would need modifying. So I was waiting on the V2 hands, but they seem pretty tough to find. Glad to know they’re the same! Where would you guys recommend I buy either set?

Keep checking Toy Anxiety. Once they’re up they’re usually gone in minutes. Otherwise it’s cheaper to buy the figure since the secondary market sets go for way too much $$$

As D.R. notes, TA is likely to list them again. They have a thread here that they update when something gets added, so if you're following that thread and maybe have some sort of alert when it's updated you'll have a better chance at grabbing them. Those are probably the parts that go quickest. I'm guessing you really don't need all of them, maybe just the 2-4 that you think you're likely to use most of the time.

True. Best to subscribe to their thread here, don’t have the link off hand but shouldn’t be too hard to find, and make sure to select the email notifications when subscribing.

After successfully completing the lens mod on my V2 Vader, I decided to try and go 2 for 2 and do the mod to my V1 Vader. A while back I had removed the dome from my V1 Vader helmet and glued it back. When I removed the dome this time I noticed that the plastic was very soft, which I am guessing was because of some sort of chemical reaction between the glue I used and the plastic. So I removed the plastic using an xacto knife, and now you can see straight down into the helmet. I have access to the lenses without even breaking open the mask. Previously when I put my V2 helmet back together I noticed that the 2 sides of the helmet didn't fit as good as it did before I separated it; there was a very small gap - not the tight almost seamless fit you have before you break it open. Because of this and now the access I have to the lens area, I'm thinking of taking a different route for the lens mod. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone painted the lenses from the inside to achieve the effect?

So I think I figured out a solution, and I am pretty happy with the initial results. I used cotton balls. I packed as many cotton balls as I could into the helmet. I actually prefer the color tone of the lens when using the cotton balls compared to the bare metal foil. Plus there's no need to worry about getting creases out, as you pack the cotton balls in they form to the lens. And the best part, I didn't have to crack open the mask!

Are you guys ordering the ESB Vader or are you just going to stick to one?

This is my favorite Vader, but I will get another. Which others will I add to my collection? That’s a tough call for me. ESB is my favorite Star Wars film, but I already have DX Luke dueling with Sideshow’s DV Deluxe. I have ROTJ Luke on preorder, so I may decide to get both upcoming Vaders or just one and keep my SS version. Decisions, decisions...

I've been working on modifying this Vader, and in the process of doing so, I take photos of it to line up with shots from the movie (or of the screen-used costume props) so that I can have a better sense for what I need to change. The pics below are the movie mask compared with the Hot Toys mask. Obviously, I couldn't photograph the HT helmet from precisely the exact same angle as the movie prop was photographed from, but it's certainly close enough for what I need. So, since I've already gone through the trouble of doing these comparison pics for myself, I thought I might as well post them here in case anyone would be curious about how accurately the HT mask lines up with the movie mask.

I angled and scaled as best as I could, and then converted my HT mask photo to B&W to help compare depths.

Then I traced reference lines around key aspects of the movie mask, and simply slid the lines over my HT mask. These lines tell me what I might need to sand away, and where I might need to fill with sculpting compound.

A lot of features line up remarkably well, but the eyes (and the cheek area surrounding the outside corners of the eyes) need to be widened/broadened. Also, the tubes leading to the tusks should have a more acute angle, and don't need to extend as far beyond the "mouth." The most difficult thing for me to fix will be the mouth itself; the grill and "teeth" need to be angled back deeper under the nose. Not sure that will be doable without causing more harm than good, though.

I apologize if this sort of thing is too technical for this thread, or just boring, but I figured I'd share it anyway in case anyone else would be interested.

Hello everybody, my ANH Vader figure will be arriving in the next few days, and I was wondering if anybody can recommend a wired cape for this 1/6 scale Vader for posing the cape and taking photos as if wind is moving his cape around? I think I read somewhere in this thread that somebody used a wired Batman cape or something, but I can't find the post that was talking about it.

Also, I can't remember how to post pics in my replies for when he arrives, what's the easiest way to add photos to replies if I'm using a MacBook Air? Thanks in advance to whoever responds.

Y'all wanna hear something dumb. (that's not the dumb part)

I loved my SS ANH Vader. But I had issues with it. So I did the body mod to make him shorter. I didn't like the helmet so I got a hasbro helmet and had it modified to fit the SS mask.

Then when the HT ANH Vader came out, I bought the cape and robe to replace m y SS one.... Then I bought the Rogue One Vader head to replace the modded hasbro.

Then I bought the MMS 434 belt to replace the sideshow belt.

Then I bought the MMS 434 boots.

Then I bought the MMS 434 body.

Finally, last night, I bought theMMS 434 3-pieace suit and helmet.

Once I get those, my vader will be 100% HT except for the chest piece and shoulder armor.

I might as well h ave bought the dang two pack. :lol

Its not dumb, it’s a sickness. It’s spreading and mutating too because I have the some problem and then some......

Finished my V1 Vader Helmet. I did the lens mod using the cotton balls. And I lowered the dome by sanding the top of the helmet. I'm very pleased with the results. I previously modded my V2 Helmet by breaking it open and applying bail metal foil to the lenses. After completing the latest mod I prefer the cotton balls over the metal foil. Also you don't have to break open the helmet, which is a huge plus. For anyone wanting to try this mod, I'd suggest removing the dome, and drilling a hole in the top of the helmet.
