Would like to ask Pixel why he objects to people liking and enjoying this figure?

Live and let live?

Don't feed the trolls. JK. Just really seems like every post in here is a bash. Funny how people keep beating a dead horse. Not sure why people have to justify it's a bad figure. I'm of the opposite. Glad I sold off my SS ANH collection years ago! Bring it HT. this guy looks great.

Same reason why people have to defend it. Its vicious cycle.:lol

Seriously? Why did he leave? Certainly not because people are being critical of a figure. He took it personally?

No, not because of criticism of the figure. Because of grown men acting like children and he had enough of it. Can't say I blame him really, it does wear you down after a while. Hopefully in time he'll feel able to contribute again.

Good to know! I was planning to make him look like the pic parras had posted.

:yess:

so far I like this pose and futzing the best, not forgetting about other great poses, light and pics you guys have shared. :clap

I was a "sculpt hater" but I understand and respect those who rather this new sculpt and those that rather the old one.

Grown men collecting dolls are going to act like children from time to time. I think we can all get past it.

Yes, very cool pics, james! I am undecided how I might display Kenobi, to start with. Probably lightsaber out. Though I like the more contemplative poses, too.

That's good advice for all of us, in general, I think.

Very true. I know I fall into the trap (cue Admiral Ackbar) on occasion, too.

That's the stuff. :rock This pose but with hands on belt and the duel pose are probably gonna be the go to's for me.

Oh and just to let you all know that Stealth V has left SSF. Shame to have lost a great contributor to board.

Because he was fed up with the ungratefulness and hostility from some members.

:lol Seems a little sensitive to me. Everyone who dislikes this figure credited him with great pics, so this "ungratefulness" is very confusing. Sad he took it so personal. He took great photos.

Seems to me, the "grown men acting like children" are the ones who can't seem to accept that a figure they like..... others dislike. Accepting others views is key. Funny the ones so called "hating" the figures are actually just joking amongst themselves, not throwing hate at anyone who likes it.... but the ones who like this figure are throwing hate at those who don't.....

Here's the best comparison I could make... it really is a choice between the two sculpts in terms of which you prefer as they both have pros and cons...

If only the two sculpts could be merged together to form a superior Alec. That would be great.

There are definitely pluses and minuses to both. The HT actually has great eye wrinkles and cheek bones, its just the damn eye shape that throws it. Also the longer mouth, shape of the moustache and shape of the nose. But the SS sculpt also suffers from being 7 years old and having a bit more exaggerated features that were common for that time and lack of the minute details like skin texture and finer hair detail.

Bingo!

The fact that the SS Ben is "7" years old and still competes with a current HT fig is a testament to the original figure.

Agreed. Eye wrinkles, check bones, skin texture, eye brows/eye lids, lips, nose and paint are all better than the SSC sculpt. SSC though has the advantage in the eyes and beard for me, which, those two features for me are the biggest. I hate the hair on both, wondering if real "hair" would have been the better route to go.... not popular a opinion, but really think real hair instead of sculpted could have been a lot better if done right. Sadly, the eyes on the HT sculpt is the biggest issue. Really just terrible. Eyes do not resemble Alec eyes to me and are to skinny and make this figure look like a half asian half white man in some angles. The beard is also completely wrong in texture (? if that is the correct word to use) and color.

That is the way of things. The way of the forum. Always has been. The reverse of that set up has happened but it's much more rare.

I only have a problem with people speaking for me and saying I'm doing or thinking (or saying) things I'm not.

You should like what you buy. Have at it. I've already mentioned that I LOVE DX05 Indiana Jones. I LOVE PERS. Two things that get more than their fair share of ridicule. I have no problem with people liking things that I don't like as well.

But don't come around me saying that something is what it isn't. Don't tell me up is down and hot is cold. Already stated I love your photos, they look great and make the figure look much better than it is in every way. But they don't make the head sculpt look like Alec Guinness, because it isn't him.

So enjoy your figure, post what you want and I'll do the same.

Live and let live?

Right.

I don't get how someone who is selling a product that goes with this figure ... trying to make anyone that owns this figure feel like an idiot.

Say my name if it's me you're talking about. Do you happen to work for Hot Toys? Then why do you care? I certainly don't care which figure someone puts one of my sabers on, even if it's James Coburn. And to repeat what I said above, don't pretend, don't even allude to, knowing what I'm thinking or trying to do. You don't know me and it's clear you also haven't read anything I've written - and people ask why repetition is needed.

No, not because of criticism of the figure. Because of grown men acting like children and he had enough of it.

Childish is packing up your pencil crayons and abandoning ship because someone, many people in fact, don't think the latest Hot Toys product is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Adults can understand that. They can deal with it and they can talk about it.

This padawan has come a long way in such a short time. Keep your chin up, you know where your towel is. Some people just like to call themselves adults - if you want to see people pissing the bed, come check out the Facebook groups sometime.

I think it's unfortunate that people choose to leave because frankly, they are fed up with going to a Hot Toys thread and are confronted with not enthusiasm for said figure and talking about its positives, but endless posts comparing it to some other figure they have no interest in with constant posts about how crap it is. It's like a stuck record, and when someone objects to it, they get called childish.

I like the SSC sculpt, I like the HT sculpt, but it would be great if each thread could talk about the merits of each instead of constant mudslinging over which is best. We're all different.
