The eyes are very squinty on the HT... they eyes are painted/applied very well, but you really can't see them.

The grooves and details of the skin really softened a lot in production as well, usually that works in HT favor as they sculpts start out overly textured, but in Ben's case I think his skin is a bit too smooth for an crusty old Jedi.

Mine just came in and I'm digging it. He's a lot better in person. Still has that overly dark skin tone like han did, which I don't really like

Yeah, have to admit, he is better in hand... as usual. Still a passing likeness overall, but when the sculpt is the size of your thumb it looks a lot more like Guinness. :lol

straight out of box, unfutzed... lighting helps a lot!

Yeah, I think that's the key...being a smaller size than all the blown-up photos on forums

Things you may NOT have known about HT Ben...

- Weird assortment of extra HANDS... two grasped hands and that odd fingering one (Force feel-up).

- Also odd that you get three (3) lightsabers, but only one (1) blade to swap around.

Things you likely do know...

- Excellent outer robe material (brown monk robe). It is so soft and velvety, really nice.

- Inner robes are not as bad as some photos allude, but still too bright and too sheer and just the wrong 'feel'.

- Boots are EXCELLENT, as is the belt.

Overall, a much better figure than I expected. I would recommend this figure to anyone who wants a cohesive display of ANH STAR WARS figures... and likely the only Alec Guinness ever attempted by HT.

Thanks for the write-up, Wor. Feel my resistance for waiting for a bigger discount than $20 waining, but I'm broke after Chewie, Han, Speeder Bike, and Scout so I'll use that as motivation to wait.:lol

I feel like all the HT figures so far look a bit off from the actors, but still look great on the shelf with the right angle/shadowing, etc. so it seems this will be no exception.

unfutzed... do they look like Guinness to you? 'bout as close as I could get.

Lightsaber is nice, but a completely different blue color then the pictures show. It's much deeper darker blue, whereas pics make it look light blue. But the gimmick is nice and welcome.

To be fair, I simply think it's more of an idealized Kenobi... LucasFilm has a habit of wanting their licensed merchandise to be more idealized than actual. He'll fit on the shelf nicely!

This one looks the best of the three to me:

The light is showing his eyes and also softening his features.

It's not an easy decision because I hoped for better, but I just ordered him with SP00KY15.

It's probably the last best chance of having an Obi-Wan any time soon.

Sod's law Sideshow will now likely put him up for sale with a 30% discount during Spooktacular. :lol

An elegant weapon.... for a more civilized time.

Belt slipped down, yes.

So in case you haven't guessed, those are the Sideshow Ben Kenobi "inner" robes.

They are a bit large overall. They do not shrink. The material is FAR superior to the HT inner robes, but the fit is a bit awkward because there's so much material. Some futzing required.

Also the cummerbund is very tight -- hence the belt slipped -- it needs to be stretched or a new snap attached.

I may just cut the bottom shorter -- should look raggedy anyway.
