What's the verdict now?

Is there any Alec Guinness in this sculpt? Is he one of those un-photographable figures that only does its job when you have him on display?

Is there an angle where he suddenly appears?

He's just one of three OT figures I haven't pre-ordered. And I'm getting an irrational completionist urge in spite of my rational unwillingness to order...

More I think about it.... there would always be a missing spot in my OT display without Kenobi.... after what I have set up now... it is a almost becoming a must to get him....

Yep, I feel the same way. That, and I have to get at least one HT Ben Kenobi.

Yeah, probably will be the only one to unfortunately.

That last quote is the driving force. The slim/zero chance of another 1/6 Alec Guinness Kenobi for years to come.

Sideshow needs to mandatory pack out.. I mean come on guys. Everyone else is doing it.

On a $200 figure it's unacceptable for it to arrive that way. Would an additional pack-out box really cut into SS's profits so much they have to charge you extra for it? (rhetorical question). That's ridiculous. That's the biggest reason I don't order from SSC.

Aside from that ... Has anyone been able to determine what that weird separation line is on the left side of Obi-Wan's beard? Does it appear to have a reason for existence? It's the only thing I find distracting in the sculpt.

Package just arrived. YAY! My wife sent me a photo, and my brown shipper appears to be in great shape. It does have that new abbreviation system on it (SW4 OW K).

Funny thing about that, looks like they're beginning to use brown shippers in Hong Kong. All of the stormie Luke's have them.

Still confused. What's it mean? He comes without the brown shipper? Loose in a bag? What?

Just received old Ben and all I can say is wow! This is only my second 1/6th scale figure aside from my HT Stormy and I'm impressed. Worth every penny. Looking forward to HT Vader to recreate the duel on the Death Star:yess:

No, it comes in the shipper you see in post 2731, unless you pay for a packout. Which means it's double-boxed with more padding. The shippers are fine most of the time (I have yet to get a damaged box) but if they get hit hard anywhere during shipping, that damage will transfer to the art box, since there is no padding between the two.

Nice shot and nice pose! Can't wait (but have to wait) to get mine. Have you tried the light up function yet? If so, is it bright enough to still see it with the room lights on?

Its not as bright as I would like but its ok. Here are some transition pics. Sorry about the iPhone image quality but you get the idea.

Yup, sucks. Why I have standing instructions w/SSC to ship all my figures with the Pack-Out option. I only get Exclusives from them (I live in CA) but it's worth it IMO

PS BBTS now has Ben In Stock.

Owch. :horror A reminder of why the pack out option is a good idea.
