What do you mean that the saber hand is in the wrong place, just curious?

exactly what some others have said. when kenobi first ignites his saber when he fights darth, his right hand is much higher up on the hilt. so for a single handed pose, it doesn't look right. if i remember correctly, for most of that duel, his right hand is towards the top and left is at the bottom. small nitpicks however, and it's still a great figure

I just caved and ordered HT Obiwan. I need him to round out my star wars collection. Hopefully the likeness looks better in hand then they do in the pictures. As a contingency, does anybody have a nicely repainted SS Obiwan head sculpt they would be interested in selling?

The HT ones did have a slight bathrobe thing going in one pic I saw, but maybe it was the lighting - there hasn't been too many pics.

I like how the no outer robe shows the belt/pouch, which looks very realistic.

It really is such a pity the HT boots are almost impossible to show. They are incredibly well done.

Pardon the crappy cell pic, but doing some renoes, so won't put any new figures up on the shelves till it's done. I did take him out of the box to inspect. Like everyone says, it's not the perfect Guinness, but he's definitely Obi Wan, and with the right lighting, will really add to the collection.

Yep, the hidden jewel. Also impressed how correct the "patches" are on the robe. Was almost tempted to keep the yellow robes for just that reason alone.

You're half right. The old one was about 1/4 the cost of the new one.

If only I was just looking to complete the ANH biggies. Unfortunately, I need SW, ESB and ROTJ heroes plus a whole bunch of second and third tier guys.

And if only R2 was 10% bigger, I would have bought another one. The more I see him in these group shots, the smaller he looks.

Well, he is surrounded by taller characters. I think if I have Leia and Luke next to him he'd look in scale.

As long as threepio is in scale with him that's all I care about.

You can really notice the ear-to-ear width difference. Most of those older SSC heads are pretty oversized - then they put them on 11" bodies (Indy's a good example.)

It's a really nice fig that gets a ton of flack. I still have to add the 1/8" lifts and do the dome weathering removal so maybe then it will click into proper scale.

If R2's too small, I hope 3PO doesn't follow suit. He's a touch taller than Luke (as is Ben.)

The head has problems, though if it's shiny enough, it will be pretty hidden. The body looks too good to pass up though - it has the 3PO slenderness.

They look almost lifelike. I never collected the older versions as they didn't look real enough. Now, I want them all!

SSC 3PO's going to have some issues, so let's not add scale to the mix. I bought the SSC Scout thinking the wonky helmet would be better in hand and I'm making the same mistake with C3-Leno. The head has problems, though if it's shiny enough, it will be pretty hidden. The body looks too good to pass up though - it has the 3PO slenderness.

Paint will make or break the SS 3PO. I do hope SS realizes this.
