Pilot Luke, Han in Trooper Disguise are all I need for the OT.
There are a couple of TFA characters I like, but I'm waiting for the new film hype to wear off, and for what I already have to settle. No rush at this point.

I might pick up a few TFA as well once the dust settles. I have to really pick and choose what I buy these days. The prices have really gotten so high. Not to mention if you miss out on a release you're really going to get killed on the secondary market.

Yes, my resistance is surely being worn down. Part of what prevented me from ordering is I don't want too many figures, but I've decided to sell off all my tertiary characters/doubles (e.g., Tusken Raiders, Bossk) and stick with main characters and troops. That does open a spot for ol' Obi.
As I say to QuiGonFishing, do eeet, I.S.!!!
The way I've decided to limit my HT SW collection is only getting those who possess the Force; Obi-Wan, Vader, Luke, Emperor, and Yoda. The only exception I may make is B. Fett, cuz he's got that cool, badass edge about him. I'm weird like that.

Fett is definitely worthy of making an exception for (esp ESB, in my case). Cool to see in what ways different people are keeping their collections focused. Always curious about how we determine what is essential in a vast franchise like Star Wars. Nice conversation in this thread, gents.

Yeah; that's why I bought Chewbacca -- I didn't like my chances after-market on that one. Now I love the figure, but if he doesn't fit with my collection in a year's time, I'll send the furball on his way because he wasn't originally on my list.
But I won't do that with a lot of stuff. There are some things I let go -- if I change my mind I'll get stung on secondary later, but better that than burning too much disposable income all at one time. I have this little thing called a mortgage I'd rather be paying off.
And I'm with Invictus, philosophically. It's not just the money, I don't want a huge collection to deal with.
I only have interest in two or three TFA characters, but they're not must-haves.
Star Wars is a slippery slope. I'm glad Leia got pushed back because I need a break. I have Luke coming and I'm skipping Stormtrooper Luke and Han, will buy Fett and 3P0/R2 when released then I'm done until HT announces a Luke/Yoda 2 pack.
Yeah, I found myself on that particular slope. Initially I hemmed and hawed about whether I would get very into this line. With SSC, I had Vader and a couple of troops, and I had the earlier HT Bespin Luke.
But I finally gave in and picked up 2 HT troops, Obi Wan, Han, Chewy, Luke, and I've got Leia on pre-order. Waiting for Vader to come in-stock, then I'll get him. The droids are no-brainers at that point. I also plan on having one Boba Fett, and of course I've still got Bespin Luke. When HT starts getting into Empire. . .I don't know what I'll do
I can easily see myself getting Hoth Han, Leia, and Luke, Bespin Han, Yoda, and maybe even Lando

I just hope if HT decides to do a snowtrooper when they get to Empire that they do a snowtrooper commander so it will still work with the SS snowtroopers. OR do a Veers which would look amazing with the SS snowtroops.

Can't see them bothering with Veers. A Snowtrooper/Commander two-pack almost seems like a sure thing, if TFA is anything to go by.

I honestly like it a lot. The gloves are the biggest issue to me how it's a separate price but I see why they did it so can change out the hands "easier" I guess and the light saber arm. I also have sideshows rotj Vader and hot toys to me blows it out of the water. Kinda wish it was not $300 for him though. I didn't bother with the sounds and lights because I read it was a pain to get the batteries in

I so gotta get this asap. My focus is all about Obi Wan/Anakin & Old Ben/Vader . I've already got all 4 from S'S, but after seeing this Old Ben in the flesh the other day. HT have just knocked it outta the park.

Yeah, I really love the HT Vader figure myself. My only quibble used to be the gloves, but now my main quibble is the belt area and the boxes on the belt. After watching ANH again last night, those boxes should be a lot closer to the belt buckle than they are; almost literally right next to it on either side.
The figure really does look a lot better when they are, being that it's more film accurate. While it's possible to do, it's also rather tricky and difficult to do. Despite being extremely cautious while attempting to adjust them, I ended up tearing the belt. Luckily, I was able to super glue it back together and then carefully re-clasp it, but still made no progress on getting the boxes closer to the buckle.
