1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 283 - Star Wars Episode IV: 1/6th scale Obi-Wan Kenobi

So what's that so far, 7 out of the 10 ANH releases that are sold out or wait listed? Technically a couple more counting exclusives/ two-packs. Not too shabby. Seems Hot Toys isn't gonna make enough to let the fence-sitters think about it very long.

Yep. I gave it a bath in some hot water mixed with acrylics. I didn't like the bright yellowish hue of the original plus it's not as see thru now.

As mentioned, I was referring only to the released ANH figures. Since you can only order Vader, Luke-non Exclusive, Sandtrooper, and Spacetrooper, I'd say they are moving at a pretty good clip. I doubt most would consider that any of the Sold Out/Waitlisted figures hung around longer than they should've. The strong secondary market prices seem to support there was still room to make more, but some people him-hawed too long.

Oh, I agree. I mentioned the ESB hanging around since I thought maybe HT reduced its ANH production numbers because of that. I definitely wouldn't hesitate buying any OT figures now in the hopes of them being available months later like ESB Luke.

If you want to find any HT product, both for sale and long sold out, Google sideshowtoy plus the name of the figure. You will get the link to any figure, even archived figures that are not on the main site anymore.

Just received my Obi Wan and it looks great. Outer robes are really creased though, and the thought of ironing that thin material is a bit scary. Any ideas?

The nameplate on the stand for Obi-Wan was tough to get off. Wound up having to unscrew the bottom portion and had to pry it off with a screwdriver. Was almost worried about breaking something as it was on there good.

Yup. That's how it works on Ben for some reason. Worth it though.

With hood up, I'm having a lot of difficulty getting the front/lower parts of the hood (the folded parts that sit on his upper pectorals) to sit right. Seems like in the movie they drape very flat to his body with a tight fold, but in most pics people seem to turn the fold inside-out. Seems like the sewing is working against you to make it look right.
