I never understood some of the hate towards this figure. This looks just as good if not better than SSC Ben.

Yeah - stock, the old SSC Ben doesn't shine as bright these days. That said, there is a killer Sir Alec likeness under that gloopy crayon job.

The HT figure (which I'm buying), may look a ton more realistic, but the resemblance isn't as strong. Still, it's an awesome piece, & I can't wait to own the set.

Looks great, more than good enough, and has more character than I've seen in other shots - which is where the SSC sculpt has up to now scored over the HT, even the retweaked version.

I don't think many people are outright hating on this figure anymore, since the improvements. Some just maintain that the likeness still looks a bit generic, and doesn't capture the character or spirit of the actor nearly as well as a repainted SSC Ben.

Who doesn't get attached to old, beloved figures? It's quite hard to accept a replacement sometimes.

I think in terms of general likeness, the SS sculpt is just a *little* better. But in terms of detail, paint job and overall presentation the HT is better IMO.

This looks brilliant - really sends a shiver down my spine to see such a lifelike representation of Sir Alec Guinness. Old Ben is really the heart of the film for me.

Its better than SSC ben, all the way mate, the sculpt, tailor, saber hilt, this is just photo proto its will be better on hands.

I agree, completely... While the HT sculpt is pretty much better in most definable areas (well except for the curly wavy beard), that undefinable, intrinsic likeness just reads Ol' Ben slightly better with SCC version.

I personally think its the facial expressions in most cases but I get the same impression from a lot of HT figures. Where technically the work is awesome, but likeness just seems slightly off. As I said in some cases its the expression (ANH Han) in others I think HT does such a good job in detailing that "uncanny valley" comes in to play.

My personal opinion is ANH Han, Black Widow, Loki, Bespin Luke all sorta fall into this category of slightly off likeness but awesome work. Maybe its the person/actor, cause lots of the HT Tony Starks seem to fit my "likeness" quota better.

Heck even how invested we are in some of these characters will affect our opinion... the more we know the more critical we will be.

Every time I see YFB's av & sig, I think of the old C=64 game 'The Last Ninja'. :lol

There's some new on.cc pics. . . most of them are just what we've seen before brightened up but there's some detail shots.

Happy to see the boots are leather and not sculpted

The weathering on the belt and pouch looks great. The lightsaber hilt detail looks phenomenal, with the aging and patina.

That's one of the things that really stands out to me with my Stormies set. The blasters all look like aged metal. Loving how this line is looking so far. (Yes even the Solo sculpt and Harry and the Hendersons Chewie)
