He's too wrinkly in the face and hands.

Even in ROTJ Alec wasn't as wrinkly as HT have sculpted him.

Of course, that could be their plan, knowing that the production sculpt will be softer, and most of those wrinkles will soften with it.

The muscles on the Bruce Lee DX04 softened (for the better) either by design or via production processes after the initial protos were shown.

First he was too young looking, now he has too many wrinkles? Lol

He was only 63 in Star Wars.

Here he is at 82:

He still had less wrinkles than HT have sculpted on him.

Yes, their sculpts do get softer, plus he won't be blown up many times his actual size on display, so he might turn out fine.

He looked pretty wrinkly at various times in the movie. It's not overkill IMO. I think they erred in making him so tidy looking, he was often a bit messier looking, hair and beard wise.

At this point, I think the only thing throwing the likeness off is the mouth. Alec Guinness always seems to have a slight smirk even when serious.

Those little subtle facial attributes that make Sir Alec's countenance look as it does, are missing from the toy.

The eyes, the shape of his face, the nose - & as Bm just noted, that little semi smile thing his mouth did while relaxed.

More white in his hair, with a touch of rust in his beard as well.

It's an awesome figure, but definitely not even 95% Sir Alec yet (if it will be at all).

Yep, could be closer but it's doubtful HT will ever feel the need for a version 2. I'll throw it in the 'good enough' category and be content.

I think the likeness is pretty close to the great man

Looks to me like they only used this publicity still for the sculpt.
Many times these costume and make up photos are done prior to filming...thus he's a little different looking than in the film just like the photo....

That said, it appears the sideshow version used the Jedi version as the reference

He looked really good in person, there is something a tad off about the likeness... but the finished product will be so nice compared to the Sideshow figure that there's no reason not to make the switch.
