Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a ****ing big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and overpriced action dollies. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose 1/6th leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a 1/6th three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of ****ing fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the **** you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing Marvel Movies, stuffing ****ing junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, ****ed up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got Hot Toys?

Really, don't open it.

I'm sorry, but as good as the HT likeness is, I'll take a nice repaint of Sideshow's sculpt any day of the week.

If you go with a top painter (necessary because Ben is nothing but a head with cloak) the cost of a repaint will likely come close to or exceed the cost of the complete HT figure. Then you still have to get a new body and hands. It's also a gamble because HT Ben could look better in production.

Yeah, I really like the SSC one with a quality repaint. I just don't have the cash to swing that for just a repaint and all the added stuff to improve the figure. I'm sticking with the HT one and will be more than happy with it.

Depending on the customizer, you could be waiting a year+ to have the work done or never get it done at all (and lose your headsculpt) if they flake out. Then there's the outfit and accessories, which are much, much nicer with HT. I'm more than content to stick with them.

I loved my Sideshow Ben. It was and still is one of their best sculpts to date. I sold mine for more than what I paid for it so I feel I got my money's worth. It's still cheaper to go with the Hot Toys than the repainted sideshow but my decision wasn't solely based on financials. I think I actually prefer the HT more on all factors.

I always wished I could've found a SS Old Ben, but I was never able to score one at the right time so this coming out was a very nice consolation for me. I ordered it with a code finally yesterday. He's not perfect, but he's still really nice.

I think this is going to be a stunning Star Wars release. The boots/outfit etc look fantastic. And as an idealised Obi, I like the sculpt a lot

For those who have an issue, you do at least have the option of putting the hood up like he's about to battle Vader.

Not kidding, its actually a good look, no one seems to do it.
