Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Quicksilver figure discussion

The audience had no emotional attachment or investment in this character. He had no motive, no aspirations or goals. In the eyes of the audience he was a total stranger.

True. But could be true for just about any character in the film. There's too much plot and the plot is lazy and stupid. Still, had some cool moments, but all in all this film is like a poorly executed Michael Bay film (not the old stuff, but the new transformers stuff) just without the visual flair that Bay has. I hope that the longer cut has more character development, and gives the characters the room and love they deserve. You can feel that Whedon really loves these guys and gals, so I hope his cut has more of it.

My favorite scenes were the non-action scenes - the party and at the farm. We got a tiny bit of character development here, a glimpse, but all in all, this was a slugfest with little to no soul. I'm too old for that ****.

Whoa! I had an emotional attachment, not as strong as the other Avengers but I loved the character, he really grows on you from the first time you see him, even as a bad guy going to a good guy, and the redemption only makes me like him more. He was also the funniest character in the movie and had some great moments. I was very upset when he died.

Plastic Enemies just changed his profile pic to one of QS. Just saying.

Don't get your hopes up with PE. The guy is more often than not a troll.

Ok you may get excited. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we see a HT Aaron Taylor Johnson sculpt tomorrow morning.

:exactly: :goodpost: I was upset when he died too...I liked the character, such a waste that they killed him off him so soon!
