I kinda did... but I only saw a flash of it before I clicked hide again. Something about
licking.
I think I'm ok :monkey1

On a more serious note...come over to the dark side and read more rumours allegedly from the crew.

Only the last three refer to plot. The first three are for everyone.

e.g.

1. Crew rumours:

JJ dislikes the prequels and unintentionally ruffled Lucas' feathers in the writer's room, leading to some bitterness from Lucas who stopped coming in as often

Crew rumours:

  • JJ dislikes the prequels and unintentionally ruffled Lucas' feathers in the writer's room, leading to some bitterness from Lucas who stopped coming in as often
  • Disney have constantly been on JJ's back in spite of his creative control, there have been some disagreements but JJ has mostly had his way with the production and his/Kasdan's story elements.
  • Harrison Ford was intoxicated when he was injured on-set, he could not claim insurance as a result, Kathleen Kennedy had words with him when he returned to set
  • Mark Hamill is only in two scenes but he knocked it out of the park. He will definitely be a lot more present in episode VIII
  • Han Solo is not killed by Kylo Ren, he is killed during a space battle in the third act
  • Carrie Fisher had some issues on set which resulted in some of budget going to waste due to cancellations, Disney are looking to reduce her role wherever possible from now on

The thing is the hardcore nerds will never like any movie that comes after the originals. That upcoming movies will get just as much hate from the same nerds even if it is a lot better than the originals. I got to think that with the resources behind them the new movies will be better than anything that came before in the series.

Same way the nerds bash any Terminator movie that comes after the first two. It's so predictable.

Because the first film is in its purest state, and each successive one is in danger of losing that purity; losing their way; losing the spark that generated the series initially. And with time more money and access to CGI make all things possible, but not necessarily a better story, dialogue or sense of connectedness to the original.

Things get lost in the attempt to create a spectacle. Just look at Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I grew up with the OT and saw them in the theater. The Prequels are at the bottom of my grouping but I still like them. I am looking forward to the new ones and I hope JJ knocks them out of the park. Personally not gearing up to hate them. It's new Star Wars. I can't freaking wait.

As far as Terminator...one of my favorite movies of all time. Enjoyed all the others (haven't seen the new one).

Also, this figure looks bada**. Hopefully he doesn't suffer same fate as Maul and Jango.

What does everyone think the odds are that Kylo Ren will be featured in a scene yelling "Midichloriiaaaaans!" as homage to the classic Vader "Noooooooooo!" ?

Yeah, I don't think you'll be happy with TFA either. The latest Empire article revealed Kylo Ren has no Midichlorian count. He wasn't born Force-sensitive. So despite all the fan hate for Midichlorians, they're still around in TFA. Whenever I encounter PT haters that can't get enough of TFA, I tell them to prepare for a bumpy road filled with references to those [canon] movies.

I am a PT hater and make no apologies. From what little I have seen from TFA and just on the looks of the new troopers and Kylo Ren coupled with bringing back the original cast, I am 100% certain these new movies will take those three PT Star Wars documentaries and have bad ways with them behind the dark alleyway if you get my drift.

Someone that tells me any PT movie stands with the originals they have no movie credibility to me at all. The only types that argue the PT stands up are the kids that grew up in that time frame with the PT and want to feel like they have their own piece of star wars. That trilogy turned Darth Vader, the most iconic evil bad ass in movie history into a lovesick punk that was tricked to turn to the dark side to save his woman. (A ridiculous plot line for a turn, capped off with the far fetched killing of children just to 'give him an edge') Then crying and yelling I hate you like a little girl 100 times at Obi Wan. Weak.

I believe you will see more Canon from Jedi with the result of Luke being tempted by Vader than any other PT reference when explaining the rift in these new movies. Jedi showed Luke had a dark side and was tempted for a split second with anger and hate,Vader laid out the same deal to Luke that was offered up to him. Lets team up and rule the galaxy, not save your wife from bad dreams. (Jesus......)

That's not being a OT elitist, but you are asking a lot for a movie franchise to have quality movies into its 4th-6th iteration of films. It just does not happen. Having a fresh team to take the spirit will do wonders with no Lucas at the helm.

This same argument will start to happen with LOTR and the new hobbit films for their nerdlore and the same goes for that franchise. Originals beats the Hobbit hands down.

It doesn't even have to have anything to do with Star Wars. The PT movies are just bad movies, period. They can't even stand on their own.

I also don't believe JJ Abrams is capable of making any movie as bad as any of the three PT. He's also rumored dislike the PT, so I believe he'd go out of his way to ignore them in TFA.

How does PT talk even leak into a thread regarding the new films?

Anything self-referential is clearly going to be from the OT. They brought back the cast. It's a carry-over. HT isn't even offering anything PT oriented -- it has even been suggested that it was their marching orders.

Kids here need to brush up on the OT expertise, because that's all you'll need to know when discussing the new movies.

Midichlorians are a PT concept and they're being referenced in TFA.

The whole "The PT will not be referenced at all" mindset is just wishful thinking on the part of PT haters.

Like it or not, all these movies are connected.

They're not, unless of course you happen to have a copy of the script? That was a joke I made (re: Ren yelling), to highlight one of the ludicrous conventions of the PT.

Like it or not, connected or not, the PT movies are all garbage. While not everyone may agree on what level of garbage-ness, the world is in agreement that they're generally poor cinematic efforts. And there's plenty of data, aggregate and otherwise, to confirm that.

Nope not connected in anyway. The PT does not exist. Never had, never will. JJ does not want to be referred to as Jar Jar Abrahms.

Ps...........PT if it existed would have been as bad as Labrynth!

Midichlorians *won't* be referenced in TFA, but the PT *does* still exist.

A lot of prequel deniers have probably forgotten WHY they hate them, all they know is they MUST hate them with the fury of a billion suns!

I've re-watched them recently, which was a reinforcement of why I hate them. I'm not hating them because it's cool. I'm hating them because they remind me of what they could have been.
